We will be staying at CSR in August. My DD who recently turned 15 and my DS who is 10 are suddenly questioning sleeping arrangements!!!! They usually sleep in the same bed and never had a problem with it......however things change I guess!!!!! My question is does CSR have a cot that they could supply,( at a cost I'm sure) or should we invest in a blow-up mattress. I'm not crazy about either sleeping that close to the floor, but...........Thanks for the info.

I'm not sure about the cot idea, but I know that lots of families solve this problem by having mom sleep with daughter and son sleep with dad. I'm presuming you are in 1 room so it's not like anything is going to happen btwn you and your husband at DW anyway.

Hi there -- I have three kids, two sons and a daughter. Usually, we rent two connecting rooms, but the boys would not share a bed (I have no idea why!) after they were around 6 and 7. :confused3 So one would sleep in a bed and one on the couch, and then DD would sleep in the second bed, because there was no chance a boy would share a bed with her anyway (and she was the youngest one! Not like she was bossy or anything.) And -- believe it or not -- the boys would argue not over who got the bed, but who got the COUCH!! Weird... but anyway, sometimes we'd all have to be in one room. In that case, DH would sleep in a bed with a DS and I would share a bed with DD. If you're traveling with both parents, this is what I'd recommend if the kids won't share a bed. I can't recall us staying anywhere that didn't also have a couch, and that's where the other DS would sleep. (And of course, one DS would sometimes elect to sleep in the bathtub. I think he's just a weird kid. LOL!)

But I remember fondly the days when they were all very small -- and we could fit all three on a bed, sleeping "sideways" on it. I have pictures, too, to prove they all were once that small. LOL! Have a wonderful time!

No cots. Your choices are to have Mom/daughter & Dad/son sleep together or to get an aerobed (or other air mattress).

My kids have never been willing or able to sleep together, so we always stayed at the Deluxes that had the daybed and then we bought into DVC and one would get the aerobed while the other got the sofa bed.

OMG That is too funny!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm surprised they don't have cots at CSR.....I got one at POFQ.

OP....why don't you bring an air matress....that should solve the problem

That is why it is so nice that some of the resorts have bunk beds. I wish more would for issues like this.:thumbsup2

I am pretty sure that the CSR has the roll away bed. I remember seeing one of Buzz's pictures that he posted with the roll away in the room.

Cots are 16.95 a night so a bit expensive -- an air mattress might be easier and a good investment in the long run.

CSR has roll-a-way beds at $16.71 per night but I would go with an air mattress.

Since my kids, now DS-16 and DD-13, got too old to sleep in the same bed, we have always stayed someplace that essentially has 3 beds. We don't like the clutter of having a cot in the room, or even an air mattress on the floor. So we just pay the extra to stay where we can have the extra bed. Have stayed at the AKL with bunk beds or at one of the deluxe hotels that have a day bed. My DS is 6'5" and kind of needs his own bed anyway so we just pay the money and deal with it.
When we travel away from disney we always stay at someplace like home wood suites that has a separate bed so the kids get their own bed.

We just stayed at Pop Century last month and requested a roll away since we have 2 boys, 16 and 10 and would never sleep together. I explained that it was because of the age difference and was told that it was free of charge because of the age difference or if a child was sick and you didn't want them to share a bed with someone.

Last year we stayed at CSR with my son and his friend. He brought the aerobed. It fit perfectly and it deflates so quickly. Invest in a twin. You will be happy you did. We just put it in a duffle bag. But now that I think of it, you might get charged for that bag depending on what plane(if any) you are taking......

but still, it is cheaper than renting a cot.

You can always get extra blankets and pillows

With a daughter aged 15 and a son aged 10, this "problem" is not going to go away for you ever as long as the two travel together.

Invest in a twin air mattress. We have one just for our granddaughter to travel with us (and eventually her younger brother). Takes maybe fifteen minutes to manually blow it up but that's what you have your kids for. For storage, we have a plastic bag with a snap closure that we put the mattress in along with a sheet and a pillowcase. Anytime we need it, we take it out of the closet and it's ready to go. You can prop the mattress up against the wall in between the bathroom and the bed.

We put the mattress in front of the window so it's out of the way during the night. Granddaughter sleeps like a log on it.

Not so weird, really - they probably never get to sleep on a couch at home (intentionally, anyway), right? So the couch is "special" on vacation :teeth:

And somebody above mentioned how quickly some air beds deflate and inflate? You don't even need to to this - many people who use this option just prop the mattress up against the wall between the far bed and the bathroom during the day.

I dont think I have ever heard of a cot at a value resort........too bad they dont give the option on a regular basis. My kids, 17, 16, 14 and 14 have been refusing to sleep together for years.....I wind up in a bed with one of them and one of them ends up on the floor on an air mattress. It would be SOOOO nice if they had their own beds and I could have a double to myself..
