Sleeping 5 at 1 bedroom at BRV and CCV

Hi,

I hope this is the correct place for my question. In the past, when my son was younger, it wasn't hard to find a place for our family of five because he qualified as an infant. Now, he's almost four and counts as a big kid. Because of that, we're looking at DVC options for our next trip. When I've looked at rental sites, they tell me that five adults can sleep in the one bedrooms at Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek, if you provide bedding for the fifth person. However, this isn't an option if we do direct booking with Disney. Does anyone have personal experience with sleeping five in one of these places? I'm pretty positive the rental sites wouldn't list it as an option if it wasn't possible but I just wanted to be sure before I booked.

Thanks so much!

Rental site is correct about BRV, but not CCV. CCV is a hard 4 + an infant, not a "5 is OK if you bring your own bedding".

DVC occupancy rules are more generous in some cases than the rules when you book with Disney direct.

Again, the rental site is wrong. DVC will not take a booking for your party at CCV unless you get a 2 bedroom or larger. Your party would legally fit in either a studio or a 1 bedroom at BRV. (I personally think that a studio would be too cramped, though).

Have you looked at Bay Lake Tower? The one bedrooms there sleep 5. OKW and AKL do as well.

I went back and double checked and it only said the 5 for BRV, not CCV, my mistake.

It’s good to know we’ll be okay doing 5 at BRV - thank you!

But you need to provide your own sheets, towels and BED for the fifth person. That won't be provided to you by DVC. You get one king bed and one queen sleeper sofa for four sleeping places. You'll get four bath towels, two hand towels and four face cloths in your one bedroom at BRV.

Our fifth person is our four year old so we'll stick him in a corner somewhere :) Thanks for the heads up about the towels though!

I bought at small blow up bed on amazon - crib size. If your 4 yo isn't too tall he would probably work on one of these. It is small enough that you could pack it in a suit case with a crib sheet and it comes with a small electric pump. There are usually extra blankets in the closet.

If I come across the name of it ill post back.

Bambino bed it is on amazon for $60. We found it to be good quality and have used it a number of times.

You can get an extra towel pack from Housekeeping. It includes 4 bath towels, 4 face cloths, 2 hand towels and a bath mat. Believe it is $6.

My 7 year old just slept in the king bed with us at Saratoga. We are used to a Queen bed so we had plenty of room.

That's probably what is going to happen with us as well given that he currently gets into bed with us every night still!

Oh that's such useful information! Is this something we would just ask for at the front desk?

You could ask there, but it is just as easy & probably better to call Housekeeping from your room to request the extra towels.

Call Housekeeping. They may tell you that you won't get extra towels for free (they told me that at OKW in January) and I just told them I knew there was a charge for them and it wasn't any problem to me.

Our family of 5 plus an infant just stayed in a studio at BRV and had PLENTY of room. Our kids are all 8 and under. The 2 year old would go between the queen sleeper sofa and our queen bed. The other 3 would take turns sleeping on the murphy bed each night. There was always 2 or 3 in the pull out bed and they never complained. We are used to small spaces, all 4 kids sleep in the same room at home. Since there is a murphy bed you do not need to provide bedding.

We had plenty of towels as they replenish them on day 4. I did bring a few extra wash cloths from home just in case we needed them.

Hi! What did you decide? Im. Family of 5 booked in a studio for the 1st time since our littlest guy is 3 for our upcoming trip. I really wanted the 1 bedroom, i wasnt aware of the option of bringing own bedding

You still cannot sleep five in a studio or one bedroom at CCV. You can sleep five in a BRV studio since there are beds for five (queen bed, double sleeper sofa, bunk sized murphy bed). The BRV one bedroom only has beds for four, king bed, queen sleeper sofa. DVC may allow a fifth person if you book using points, but not if you book with cash through Disney Reservation Center. You have to provide your own bed, linens, towels, etc for the fifth person. No bed will be provided for the fifth person.

We are doing a one bed at AKL, then moving to a one bed at BRV and finishing up with a studio at the Poly.

At BRV there is a cute little pull down bed that doubles as a table in the daytime underneath the TV, so really you have three beds if you include this one...

Not in the one bedroom, just in the BRV studio. BRV one bedroom only has one king bed and one queen sleeper sofa. This thread is over a year old. The other posters probably already took their trip.
