Ever had one?

It was recommended that I take one. I'm thinking it would probably be a waste of time as there is no way I'd be able to fall asleep. I have a hard enough time falling asleep as is, let alone being in a strange bed with wires and stuff all hooked up all over me, with cameras on me, knowing that I was supposed to be falling sleep.

I'm with you. I had to have 2 of them so that I could get my gastric bypass surgery done. I hated each and every minute of it. They put wires all over you, goop in your hair and then put you in the most uncomfortable bed and tell you to fall asleep.
For the second one, they put a mask on my face. I had a stuffed up nose so it was hard to breathe with the air being forced down my throat. At one point I got so disgusted that I actually held my breath. Should have seen the tech guys rushing in to make sure I wasn't dead. :lmao: :lmao:

They told me I had minor sleep apnea and forced a cpap machine on me. I never used it. It sat in the trunk of my car for 3 months. I returned it to the office and they told me that I had to have another sleep test before they would accept to ensure that my apnea was resolved. I told them they had 2 choices - they either take it from me willingly right then or I leave it by the trash can by the front door but either way I was NOT taking another sleep test and I was not going home with it! They took the machine. :rotfl:

I've never had one but my DH did in January. They recommended that he get a prescription for a sleeping pill which he did and had no problem sleeping. I am very glad that he did it because I know he had sleep apnea and it was very scary having to shake him over and over to get his breathing started again. It affected my sleeping, too, so my DS had to deal with two cranky, sleepy parents. DH has a CPAP now and it is no big deal. I am so happy that he took the time to take care of himself for us so we can have him around for a long, long time.

Good luck!
