Sleep in the Haunted Mansion???

I don't know if I get that station over here? I need to check.

What an awesome prize though!! Wow, I would love to win that. I think I'd cry.

I have to admit - I would be really thrilled to win, too.

I am guessing, like others have stated, that not only will they not allow people to roam freely in the HM (darn it) and the winner will likely have a CM with them, glued to their sides the whole time, but they may even have some sort of hidden room for CMs somewhere in the HM that they can set up as a bedroom. They would have to let the guests be near a bathroom of some kind (don't want to have an accident in the middle of the night in the HM!:rotfl:), so that makes me think there must be some separate room in the HM building, out of way and off the main track of the actual ride areas. And they probably lock it at night so you can't roam freely anywhere.

Ooooh, it's so exciting! I can't wait to hear more details!

That would be cool for a really old man ME.

I too, would love to win this contest. I am hoping that one will be able to enter, without having to listen to the station. Of course, we would need the entry information.

Someone needs to keep all of us informed about the contest when they discuss it next week. I dont get that station in.

Hey kari12177, I live right down the hill from you in Chico! You can listen to Mark & Brian on Thunder 100.7 from 6-10 in the morning! I only get to listen from 6-7:30 but I'll post whatever I hear. My husband gets to listen from his desk at work so he'll let me know if I miss anything.

Thanks Disneyluvr2! I have not listened to Mark and Brian since I moved. But, I will make sure and listen to them this next week on the internet. My Son won tickets for us from Mark and Brian once. :cool1::tink:

I just got some info on it in the last 3 minutes. Mark and Brian said this:

They are broadcasting from DLR and the HM on August 10th (Monday). They are giving away TEN "Family 4-packs" which include four 3-day Hoppers and the overnight HM stay on August 9th, I think. (I think all of them include the HM overnight stay, but they definitely all include 3-day Hoppers.)

Two times this week and two times next week they will be announcing on their show when a "Kid Break" is coming up. And when they do, during that Kid Break everyone who wants to enter has to call in and try to win the Family 4-packs.

I THINK a 'kid' has to get on the phone if they win - or a parent has to get on and say something about their kid - in order to win. I could be wrong on that aspect. But in any case, listen for the 2 times this week and the 2 times next week when M&B announce the Kid Break and that everyone who wants to enter has to call in. Again, they are giving away 10 Family 4-packs.

If anyone heard anything different, please correct me.

Since it's August 9th this has something to do with HM's anniversary I suppose?

What a crazy awesome prize!!
How could it be on Aug 9th though? I doubt they'd do that when they are having the 40th anniversary event the same night where 999 people are going to be doing a ride through after hours.

As I stated in my previous post, Mark & Brian are doing their live broadcast from DLR on August 10th, so they said they assumed the winner(s) would be staying on the night of the 9th - it has to be done on the designated date. This is a contest in honor of the 40th HM anniversary, so everything has to revolve around that date.

Okay here is my understanding. Mark and Brian will be giving away family four packs to the HM 40th Anniversary (Aug. 9th, 1969) , which is also KLOS's 40th birthday. The tickets will be awarded to children (yes children only) calling in during "Kid Break". I am already asking to borrow my friends kids for the next couple of weeks.:rotfl:Also, Kelly asked how would this work. And nobody knew the answer to how would someone be able to sleep in the HM. Also, they said one would be picked from the group that win tickets.:tink:P.S. The HM 40th Event Party is set for 09/09/09.

Yes, I did hear Kelly ask how they would set them up to sleep, etc., and the guys said they didn't know but they were sure it would be a nice set-up. So you understood it to mean that of the 10 familes who win the 4-packs of Hoppers, only ONE of those families will be allowed to sleep over in the Haunted Mansion? See, I didn't hear them say only one family would be picked for the HM, but it certainly would make much more sense than to have 10 families stay overnight, I would think! 40 people could be chaotic!:rotfl:

I didn't hear them say they were only giving the 4-packs to kids, but I heard them say that everyone had to call in during the Kid Breaks after they announce them this week and next.

In any case, it is a great prize but it is kind of short notice for a lot of people, and I think they overcomplicated it. I think they should have just said that the 25th, 40th, 50th, etc. callers would win the prize, and if someone could answer a hard trivia question they could get into the HM overnight thing. It is too drawn out this way. They could have made it simpler to manage but still only pick 10 familes to win the 3-day Hoppers.

As I stated in my previous post, Mark & Brian are doing their live broadcast from DLR on August 10th, so they said they assumed the winner(s) would be staying on the night of the 9th - it has to be done on the designated date. They can't have people staying there any old time, so it is probably because they have 999 people doing a ride-through on that night that the set-up will be a little different, and the winners of the contest will be allowed to sleep over. They wouldn't do it on any other night, when it is back to business as usual. This is a contest in honor of the 40th HM anniversary, so everything has to revolve around that date.

Sorry I edited my post, the HM40th isn't even in Aug its in Sept (9-9-09).

Oh, okay. I get it now. So the party with the 999 guests doing the ridethrough is on 9-9-09 (I had forgotten the September date momentarily, for some reason), but the HM anniversary is on 8-9-09 and that is when M&B will have their contest winners stay over - so the winners staying over will not coincide with the actual anniversary event. Okay, now it is all making sense!!:lmao: :rotfl:

I tend to think that since the DLR trip has to take place in just a couple of weeks, that will rule out a lot of people out of state form entering and maybe even some locals who cannot get out of work for the days involved (3-day Hoppers).

So what date are they actually doing the radio contest?

They didn't say - it is an evil plot to get everyone to keep listening to their show for the next two weeks! All they said was "two times this week and two times next week" they will announce that they are having a "Kid Break" (apparently they have these periodically anyway), and when they do and tell people to call, they will say 'Call now to win the DLR family 4-pack and HM stay.' Now, as to when the "two times" this week and the two times next week are is anyone's guess. But over the course of this week and next, 10 families will have won the family 4-pack of 3-day hoppers, and someone will be the family to stay in the HM!

Thanks Sherry E and Tinkcollector or listening today! My husband was suppose to listen from his desk today for me but apparently left his post when they made the announcement! Geez!!! What was he thinking!!! He said he thought they said there would be a kid break tomorrow. Guess it doesn't matter...I'll be working...and I'm not a kid! At least not the kind they'll let call in to win.:sad2:

This morning - that tomorrow (tues ) they will have 1 kids break, then 1 more this week, and 2 next week.

Kids breaks have been used in the past to giveaway Disney tix - kids call in ( or parents and put the kid on the phone ) with talents - which can just be some jokes, or singing, playing an instrument - nearly anything. I think the talent has to be approved by their switchboarders to get onto the radio - but once the kid is on, they don't really say 'no' to the kid - that family will get tix. It may be tougher since they have so few to give away this time.

I'm betting you'll have to start calling early - like at 6am - to get in. If that's too early they'll tell you I'm sure.

Make sure your kid is enthusiastic if you try! It is the coolest prize ever.
