slaw recipe with ramen noodles and sunflower seeds?

I copied this recipe from someone here. I've never made this because DH didn't think it sounded too good. Some day when he's away & its just us girls - DD & me. ;)

RAMEN COLE SLAW

1 lb. cole slaw mix
2 pkgs. Ramen noodles (chicken flavored soup), uncooked, crushed
1/2 pkg. shredded carrots
1 cup sliced almonds
1/4 c. sunflower seeds (opt.)
3 green onions, chopped

DRESSING:

1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. peanut oil
1/2 c. cider vinegar
2 seasoning packets from noodles

Mix dressing ingredients. Pour over cole slaw and carrots and onions. Chill this mixture overnight. Toast almonds until slightly browned. Cool. Just before serving add crushed, uncooked Ramen noodles & almonds and sunflower seeds (opt.)

(Also good using Beef Ramen)

Thank you! I'll admit, it sounds gross when you say it "SLAW WITH RAMEN NOODLES" but the one I ate was sooooo good.

I have a bit of a different recipe that my SIL gave me. She has made it before at some family gatherings and it is very good.

Crunchy Sesame Slaw

1 pkg oriental or vegetable flavor Ramen Noodles
3/4 cup miracle whip
1/4 cup vinegar
2T sugar
1/2 t. salt and pepper
3 cups chopped green cabbage
2 cups chopped red cabbage
1 cup shredded carrot
1/2 cup sliced green onion
1/2 cup almonds, toasted
1/4 cup sesame seeds or sunflower seeds

Mix seasoning packet from soup mix, dressing, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Add cabbage, carrots, and onions. Mix lightly. Refrigerate. Add crumbled dry ramen noodles, almonds and sesame(or sunflower) seeds just before serving.

Here's another variation that my family enjoys.

1 10 oz bag of slaw mix (shredded angel cut is best)
1 bunch chopped green onion (I usually use less)
Ramen Noodles (1 pkg Ramen Soup, I use oriental flavor)
1/2 - 1 cup sunflower seeds
1 pkg slivered/blanched almonds

Brown ramen noodles in 2 tablespoons margarine.
Toast almonds under broiler (watch carefully)

Dressing
1/2 cup rice vinegar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 cup sugar

Mix together with dressing JUST before serving.
**Not real good leftover because everything gets soggy.
