slate ge appliances

Again, you are not always correct, but apparently you like to think you are. See the poster under you.
This is a Discussion board where people discuss their experience and opinions. Has nothing to do with being correct. I certainly learned a lot which is why I am here, and as the above poster mentioned, the glass tops can be replaced, some just take more work than the video I linked showed.

It all depends on the manufacturer and model to determine how much things cost. I've seen as low as $150 to as high as $500+ just for the "glass". It's nuts really.

I had to replace the element on a LG LSE4613ST two days ago - beast of a thing to replace.

But I'm rambling...

Best advice for the OP - get what you like. Opinions are a dime a dozen, good opinions more rare though LOL!!! If you can see the appliance in your house for 10+ years get it!

(Typically I get the style I want on sale from Costco or THD - and if it breaks I just call the company and I repair it lol)

This is OP. Such a shame that I won't be able to get 25 years out of my next fridge! We have the bisque color in my house now without an ice maker or water, so we will be living in heaven with any new update. I just wondered what owners of slate thought about theirs. I hope that slate won't become the "out of style" selection in a few months and then I would need to try to find hard to match replacements later. The black stainless does look nice, but I think slate may go with my kitchen a bit better. I think black stainless will be the hot style next. Thanks!
