Well I think this is what my eldest DD has had this week, even though the Dr thought it may be measles even though she's had her MMR :confused3, and he told us to keep her off school for 5 days :worried: , well she's so bored and desperate to go back to school tomorrow so she can do her bricklaying course :lmao: she's been well apart from having really red cheeks and a faint rash on her body, and looking like she's got sunburn on her arms and lower legs, the red cheeks have now disappeared but we still have the rash, should I let her go to school tomorrow?

 Aww bless her, I hope the redness goes soon

Her bricklaying course sounds like fun ::yes::

It is contagious through close contact, sneezing, kissing+caused by the parvovirus..She should'nt go to school until the rash dissapears.Incubation period is uo to 20 days, and when the rash dissappears she is no longer infected.Hope this helps you.x.

p.s you can still catch measles even after having the MMR.The MMR just makes it a milder case.x.

Slapped cheek was doing the rounds in reception last month, at the moment it seems to be tonsilitis, which DD had last week.
I was under the impression she could return once the rash had developed but I could be wrong :confused3
Good luck:thumbsup2

To be honest she's been absolutely fine ;) , the spots on her face started on Monday after school and we thought she's had an allergic reation after baking, which is something we've got used to as she has food allergies!, but then by Monday evening her cheek's were really really pink!, she went to school on tuesday and then we took her to the Dr's yesterday just to have it checked out!, he didn't mention slapped cheek!, only maybe that it might be measles but probably not :confused3.

You know what Mandy, I was soooo shocked when she told me she was doing bricklaying :confused3 , this is something that the school do every year, they have a university run for a few weeks where the children all have a choice of learning a vocational subject, and my girlie girl choose bricklaying :lmao: , my other DD is doing cake decorating ;)

Both my girls had slap cheek and we were told that it was fine to send them to school, I think everyone tells you something different :confused3

Sorry to hear she's been unwell.

Slapped Cheek is on the yellow contagious dieases poster that all schools have up. The best thing to do is to ring the head teacher in the morning and what they say about your daughter returning to school. It will state on the poster the exact regulations with regard to how long she should have off but I can't think what it is off the top of my head.

Well she's been to school today :goodvibes , and the teachers were fine with having her back ;)
