SL refurb

I have read the SL are doing a huge referb from Oct 2010 til 2012.
Do you think this will cause much disruption to people staying there?

It could do I suppose. Hopefully they'll do everything they can to ensure the people staying there are as comfortable as possible.

On another note, I'm glad they're finally starting this. As much as I like SL, it's looking a little tired (the rooms in particular).

My neighbour is building up another roomfor his house and i can tell i have been MUCH annoyed by this all summer long so i suppose it would not be so nice to stay in the part of SL where they are refurbishing.
I suppose they will work in one area and let people stay in another anyway.

We were thinking about downgrading to the Cheyenne as our boys loved it last year, i think finding out about the refurb may have made up our minds.
Mother in law is comming along this year, she would never let me forget it if it did happen to disrupt us a little!

I now know you downgraded because of your other thread.

I just wondered if you incurred any charges due to downgrading?

Hehe yup we did.
We didn;t have to pay a fee because we did it 61 days before we are due to arrive, if we had done it today it would have cost us 10% of the difference in price.

We're still waiting to find out how we get our refund for the difference though!

I was thinking about upgrading to the Sequoia Lodge as i am on my own but i think now that the 2 nights extra free offer has finished for my dates i would have to cancel and rebook.

Mind you they can't even see my booking so maybe i should just leave it well alone

Just had an email back from them ( i sent one thanking them upgrading us on for our recent visit and to also enquire about how much the Sequoia Lodge would be)which reads...


We thank you for your very nice e-mail.

We have forwarded it to the Disney's Sequoia Lodge.

To change your reservation to the Disney's Sequoia Lodge, you will loose the offer you have . The new costing will be 585.00 GBP.

Please advise us as soon a s possible if you want to change hotel..

I know tell me about it, over £300 more!

I sent it yesterday evening. In fact I sent 3 to different email addresses as i wasn't sure which one was correct

Having sent 3 emails i hope none of them automatically assume i want to change to the Sequoia Lodge and just change my booking anyway, i only enquired about the price it would cost. Maybe i shouldn't have mentioned it.

I'm not sure what to do now, I have booked for my 40th birthday in February with the 30% off deal for me, dh & dd, and the booking states we are in the lodges? Hope the work doesn't ruin our break Debs x
