SL in October or DLH in November?

Hi, MummyMinnie! I'm glad I'm not the only one! I've really been enjoying reading through all the trip reports and thinking that I should get a pad of paper and note down the hints and tips as I read! Am coming down on the side of going in November instead of October. Well, with 4 nights for the price of 2 at the DLH it seems daft not to! My daughter will be so excited. She's absolutely princess-mad and loves her Disney films. Just need to check that my inlaws can look after our dog and hopefully will be able to book asap. Yay! :yay:

My DD is princess mad too. She'd wear her princess dresses all the time night & day if I let her! :rotfl:

Once you've decided on your dates, & if you're booking your transport separately ( which normally works out cheaper), I'd book it as soon as poss especially if Eurostar. The sooner you book the cheaper they are. You'd need to book by phone as they won't be online til 4 mths before. You are also guaranteed seats together as you choose carriage/seats unlike when booking with Disney you could end up separated!!

We'd be flying and I'd definitely book as soon as possible - would hate to have the DLH all lined up and find that the flights are booked!

Yet another wee question. If the DLH is directly over the park entrance, does this mean that it's noisy? My DH is a slave to his sleep and a tired and grumpy husband would not make for a pleasant holiday.

Never stayed here but have wandered the halls many times during opening hours and its never been noisy so it certainly wont be noisy when parks closed at bedtimes :thumbsup2

We've stayed here twice and I can't remember it being noisy (overly warm yes but then I like a cold bedroom)

oh you are going to just love the DLH!!! No its not noisy at all!! at night after the park closes you can hear the xmas caroles playing in the park but only if you open your window and its in the background....the music continues on well after the park is closed! it does tend to be warm in the rooms and i always opened our windows a smidgen and it was lovely to lie in bed and listen to the music in the background :goodvibes

Another who finds the bedrooms warm - no pjs needed in the DLH that's for sure, just a nightie for us ladies/girls! The aircon is up and down like a yo yo in our room :rotfl:.

I agree with Nicola about the noise - you hear nothing if you have your window closed and if it is open it's lovely, very quiet music in the park. The curtains are also very heavy so keep noise out if you have the window open a little.

As for a room over the park. To be honest, these are mostly Castle Club or suites anyway. I don't think there are any standard rooms with full park views/right over the park. There is the odd one on the side but not directly over so again, noise isn't an issue.

Thanks, everyone. I really do appreciate the time you've taken to answer my queries. My in-laws are now back from their hols and have confirmed they can look after our dog. So....... it's time to dig out the credit card and get booking!!! Watch this space!!
