Skyliner wait times at Riviera at rope drop and park closing?

Just wondering if anyone knows how long they have waited in line for the skyliner at rope drop and park closing. Also, how long after park opening/closing until the lines were fairly short?

I have Riviera booked but I am concerned it is not a good fit for us as I have one family member that has difficulty with long waits (health issue), especially in crowds. We are booked for early May.

At rope drop, I've had very short lines for the Skyliner when starting at Riviera. It is usually less than a minute or two. Going to Epcot is direct, but a lot of the Skyliner gondolas are occupied from CBR and Pop guests going to Epcot. Going to DHS you have a transfer at CBR; it is usually almost no wait at Riviera, and then maybe a minute or two at CBR.

Coming back at park close or just after fireworks, the line for the Skyliner can be much longer, but the line moves quickly. I may not have hit the absolute peak times, but I think my longest wait was less than 10 minutes.

There is a separate line for people with ECVs or wheelchairs, and a separate process of loading/unloading and sending off those gondolas. At park closing, that line looked way backed up.

Morning rope drop isn't bad for either park. Should rarely be more than 10-15 minutes, tops. Usually, under 5 minutes.

Evening close, Epcot can be bad if you exit in the fireworks crowd. If you beat the crowd by a few minutes, you're in good shape. If you wait a while, you'll be fine. But if fireworks start at 9pm, and you're hitting the Epcot skyliner station at 9:20-9:25, you can hit an insane line, over 30 minutes easily.

DHS close was fine before Fantastmic returned. As people didn't tend to leave DHS all at once. I don't know if the return of Fantasmic has changed that equation.

Thank you so much! This sounds the same as we experience with the monorail then, never a problem arriving, not so great after EPCOT fireworks unless you wait it out. I almost cancelled our Riviera reservation today, I think we will stick with it. Really appreciate the help! Thanks again!

Thank you, your reply is so much appreciated! I think our plan will have to be to wait it out after the epcot fireworks/fantasmic then ie after peak, but other than that it sounds like we should be fine.
