Is there a baggage check before you board the Skyliner? Also, if there is a baggage check at the resorts do you have to go through baggage check again at DHS & Epcot?

All Skyliner stations are OUTSIDE of the security bubble.

No less safe than boarding a Disney bus. The skyliner drops you outside the parks so you go through bag check at either Epcot or HS. Epcot has pulled the security back to accommodate more people coming through International Gateway now.

It goes over guest rooms and if one portion of the line breaks then everything goes down. Seems strange. They must feel that most people who board at a hotel are staying at the hotel and they already have security in place. In my mind though, one issue and that line breaks, alot of problems. Disney knows what they are doing though as they rarely have any huge issue.

WDW only has security for the the theme parks, but not for entering hotels or using transportation. The security check at the outlying monorail stations & TTC isn't for the safety of the monorail (although that is a side benefit), it is to screen people who will have access to enter MK. This was an operational decision to spread out MK security checkpoints in order to relieve the crowding that can was occur when all MK security checks were being performed at a single location directly in front of the gate.

They have people who go into rooms, that is security for hotels and trans. If 99% of the people using the Pop skyliner are staying at Pop and they search their rooms daily, security already exists.

It's really not efficient or reasonable to add three-year security checkpoints when the transportation terminals are outside the secure area.

<Sigh>

The OP asked about bag check. That is the type of security I was referring to.

If 99% of the people using it are staying at the hotel and getting their rooms searched, the people you need to worry about will be in the 1% not staying at the hotel.

The 1% will be there to resort-hop, or eat. No other resort has bag check, not sure why skyliner resorts would be expected to

Anyway, somebody visiting for nefarious purposes would probably not be using Disney transportation

Originally some posters wondered if Disney would have security prior to boarding the Skyliner bypassing security at DHS and EPCOT. Universal has guests go through security prior to boarding the resort boats to citywalk. Disney decided not to go that way.

If you are worried about security then you should realize there's plenty of ways to board and not be a resort guest. It ain't no 99% that stay in resorts using it

Not exactly accurate. The monorail resorts do have bag check to get on the resort monorail. You must go through screening just prior to getting on the monorail platform.

Yeah, if you read @Lewisc's response after I said that, you'll see I misunderstood where/why the security was located.

Hmm. The monorail goes THROUGH the Contemporary.

Not sure exactly where this comment is related but to remind, guests do go through security checkpoints prior to boarding the monorail at all locations.
At this time, you don't go through immediately prior to boarding when leaving Epcot but you have been screened prior to entering Epcot and you don't exit that secure zone before you board, so you have been screened even in that situation

All that security is doing is looking around the room for things left in plain sight. Since they are so rudimentary the room checks add pretty much no security at all to the resort itself let alone the gondola system. All you have to do is keep whatever bad thing you plan to use in your car or even inside a drawer.
