Skyliner operating hours

So the Skyliner launches Sept 29, but I cannot seem to find any mention of operating hours. Since there are routes to/from HS and EPCOT, is it safe to assume 'normal' operating hours will be almost identical to the buses?

Since it hasn't opened yet, no one really knows. The first 2+ months, DHS will open at 6:00 so it's hard to judge what happens after that even when it does open.

1. It's not open, so no one knows
2. Far too early to start worrying about stuff like this. What the hours are now could be 100% different in 9 months.
Again, my trip date is irrelevant. I was just curious, as people are curious about all things Disney. I am not "worried" about anything - I have done Disney enough to know what to expect and how to manage it.

5:30 could still put you a long way back in line, depending on the crowd that day.

As mentioned, nobody knows yet. Running the same time as the buses is a good guess. However, when it first opens, HS will have 6am EMH daily. Will the skyline be open for that? I would guess yes, but we will find out Sept 29.

I arrive at AoA on September 29, so I care, lol. We want to do the 6 am opening at Studios on the 30th. Hoping we can skyliner over there at 5:30.

What @gharter said! In all likelihood rides will be open & running by 5:30. You'll want to be through security & in line by 5 & maybe sooner once reports come out. You won't want first week reports, but you will want 3rd week reports to know how early to actually arrive. But, at no time during 6am openings will you want to be on transportation at 5:30am, if you plan to ride anything new. That could result in a 2 hour wait or longer, we just have to wait to see.

I would treat the Skyliner running for extra, extra early magic hours the same as the Friendship boats from the BCV/BW. Did the Friendship boats run that early last year when Toy Story Land opened?

Or sooner, if the Pop/AoA and DHS lines open at the end of August, as is expected by many.

I just got off the phone with a cast member after changing my hotel to Pop. My trip isn't until December and she said, they are planning to be done with the skyliner by December, but that they might not be. I was pretty shocked to hear that.

"... at the end of August, er, September, as is expected" (?)

On August 28, was asking a few random CMs near the Epcot International Gateway about whether any of the Skyliner lines were running (did not say/utter/mention "a day early" even though opening was scheduled for "tomorrow.") Most were unsure but one said opening was end of September. "Wha....?" I thought to me-self.

Back at the resort, took out laptop went on line and checked various sources RE Skyliner including via Google. Found just one mentioning end of September, then stopped browsing and realized that I was not going to get a preview ride on the Skyliner, the sad departure on Magical Epxress being in the next morning darkness.

This trip featured no rope drops and no morning extra magic hours. Previous trip back in 2010 (offsite, no EMH) had some long waits outside the park gates or just inside the park for rope drop almost nullifying the advantage of being there then.

I could see an advantage of opening the SKyliner to guests for the first time at a not too busy hour. This could be either in the form of a previous day preview or mid day on the published opening day. THis way an unexpected problem related to ordinary guests as opposed to cast members as guinea pigs would not result in mass chaos.

Hope it will be open for our November trip. I am pretty sure my daughter will be a little irritated riding a gondola without ski :)
