From January 23 through January 28, 2022, Disney Skyliner service between Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort and Epcot will be out of operation for refurbishment. Complimentary bus and FriendShip boat service will be available.

I was so bummed by this news but booked Boardwalk area anyway. First time we are ever staying at the Beach Club in late January and I envisioned frequent trips by skyliner over to RR. I'm telling myself that at least the Boardwalk area should not be so crowded at park opening and closing since the skyliner will be down.

What, already??

Given its 5 days it’s probably general and required maintenance. While I agree nothing is built to last anymore, and since I’ve ridden the skyliner, I’d rather them be safe than sorry. Had a great time riding it (minus the descent into the hub that was scary the first time).

I know, it's just that I planned my vacation for exactly that week (two years to the date since I was last there thanks to the virus). And of course it is a very relaxing ride after a day in the parks.
Oh well, an extra Mickey bar (maybe two) might take the disappointment away.

If it is just scheduled maintenance, knowing many of us book 11 month ahead, why can't they tell us of these 'planned' closures before we book?
Just one more, we don't care about the owners, we got their money.

Sometimes permits might not be filed or approved. They could’ve easily had it scheduled for another time but whatever lake Buenavista vista allowed they got. It’s not as easy as water rides where you have winter to shut them down.

The maintenance is likely being done by the manufacturer (Doppelmayr), so the schedule would be based on availability of their personnel.

They are probably doing cable maintenance, that’s the longest run and cables do need maintenance

I'm traveling around that time and I distinctly remember messages on the DVC website telling me that the skyliner was going to be down. I didn't book Riviera because of that warning. So they knew about it and were notifying at the 7 month mark at least. I don't know what they knew at 11 months though.
