Can anyone tell me, is this something a 7yo boy would love for xmas? My kids are in older I don't know what the latest thing is anymore.

I think it should be a big seller this year...my two boys 6 & 9 were having fun playing with the display at Target this week & thought it was pretty cool. I plan to buy it for one of their combined gifts this year.

I see that TRU has a good deal on them today yet, buy the starter set for $69.99 & get a $20 expansion set free. I was just checking Amazon to see if they're matching it but no such luck...figures, there's no way I can get to TRU without my crew in tow today!

Good luck!

My son (8) just got this...and he LOVES it!! (So does my DH!) It is actually a cute game. But I must say, it is a RACKET! Ingenious of the creators to require additional toys on top of the game. Certain figures open certain parts of the game. However, the cool thing about it....atleast from what we can figure, is that the story is actually stored in the toys, not the game. SO if your buddy has the game, you can take your toy to use on his game and will have your information. It is my understand that the toys are good between game systems too...so you have an xbox, your friend has a wii...still good. Just the toys, not the game disc itself.

It's the number one thing on my son's list--he just turned 8 a few weeks ago. I haven't seen any good sales on it yet and I'm hoping it's not going to be a sell-out item that's hard to get.

My 8 year old has no interest in it. I thought for sure he would but when I asked him about it he said he didn't like that stuff. :confused3
Since you mentioned your kids were older I assume you are buying it for someone elses. I would ask the parents just to be sure, since it is a pretty expensive gift.

Have it stashed away for Christmas along with many of the extra figures. My 9 year old has the strategy book and is reading it every minute he can. It will be a skylander Christmas at our house.

I considered it but, it seemed violent to me after watching the Amazon video. Is there more to it than simply killing the enemy?

We bought this for my daughters birthday, she will be turning 9. She was excited about it when she saw the commercials, she loves the look of the game, and the character figurines. She has played my really old Spyro games for a few years, so she's thrilled they have a new one out.

Some stores have exclusive characters, my DH read online that the Target exclusive one is sold out in store and online.

My soon to be 7 year old son wants this for Christmas. It's the top of the list. I have to check it out a bit first. We loved playing with the display at ToysRus

My DS8 got it the day it came out with his birthday money. He LOVES it. So far he has 14 figures. He plays it alone and really likes it, then he plays it with his Dad, and it's like a whole different game. The additional figures will be great to put in his stocking for Christmas.
There are puzzles to solve along with the battles.
