skyauction??

If it's been done before, sorry. Can someone fill me in on the "skyauction"? Start at the beginning please

SkyAuction is where you can go & bid on a place & know what you are bidding on, unlike Priceline. It has some decent deals on 7 night stays in condos. There is usually a $195 tax & service fee for the week, plus a $15 transaction fee. Lately I have noticed that the deals aren't as good as they use to be. They are offering many with an "additional" seasonal charge...so be careful. What you should do is go on to the site, register to have an account with them & watch how things work. You can see something interesting & place it in your favorites & then go back every so often & check on it. you will get to see how people are bidding. They have auctions for per nights as well, they ususally have a $32 tax & servvice fee added on (and some have a seasonal charge as well). Hope this helps you to start out with

We booked Orange Lake Country Club resort on our trip in Nov '03, we got (2) 2 bedroom condos for $450 total. It was a great resort, understanding that you have to drive everywhere, but the condos were huge and perfect for our family of 5, my parents and brother's family.

Hello, we have been staying for 3 months in Hampton Lakes on hwy 27...Tourism is very definately increasing and crowds are way up in my opinion...this means less deals as the rooms are filling with regular rates and new owners of time shares...

Skyauction is really a great deal but need to work harder these days...IMHO the weekly rates are by far the best deal as daily rates quickly add up to 60 plus a night...weekly rates will be around 40 on average.

Get on Skyauction and get to know the site...go to "sun packages" and the click on the "Florida" icon on the left and start shopping...there will be about 5-6 pages...about 60% of the offers will be the Orlando area...Some are specific resorts.....look for the picture of the Shamu or big black and white whale. This one will let you bid on weeks a large number of resorts..Best locations are
Silver Lakes
Orange Lake
Summer Bay
Westgate
Vistana
Vacation Village at Parkway...comes up a lot is close to International Drive
Summer Bay
Fantasty World Villas

Thanks for your input on Skyauction, Ted! We got some great deals a couple of years ago, but I don't see anything like them now... We elected this time to go with Cypress Pointe through Hotelkingdom...much more than we paid previously for somewhat comparable accomodations, but still a good deal. I fear that with tourism up the deals are gone...we've got to enjoy them while we can!!
