I noticed that many of you have used skyauction. And I noticed that on skyauction there are auctions that look like this:

The Following check-in dates were available at the start of the auction:

July 10, 11, 25, 2004

Aug 6, 7, 8, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 2004

Sept 3, 4, 5, 10, 12, 17, 24, 2004

Oct 2, 3, 9, 15, 17, 24, 31, 2004

Nov 7, 12, 13, 14, 21, 26, 27, 28, 2004

Dec 3, 5, 10, 11, 12, 17, 19, 24, 2004

Jan 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30, 2005

February 4, 5, 6, 11, 25, 26, 27, 2005

March 5, 6, 2005

April 3, 8, 15, 17, 22, 29, 30, 2005

May 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 21, 27, 2005

June 3, 4, 12, 19, 2005

July 1, 9, 15, 29, 2005

August 5, 13, 14, 19, 20, 26, 2005

September 2, 9, 16, 23, 24, 30, 2005

October 7, 15, 21, 28, 29, 2005

November 4, 5, 11, 18, 25, 26, 2005

December 2, 9, 10, 16, 2005

And above reads available from the start of the auction. And my dates are August 27 for a week.(Which in most resorts is sold out)
So what happens if I win the auction and they dont have availability?(and I am not too flexible with dates) Is this possible?

We won our first Skyauction a couple of months ago. We immediately tried to book our trip for our available dates and found out the dates were no longer available. We had won the HGVC near Sea World. We took a chance and asked them if they had any availability for our dates at the Vistana Villages or the Vistana Resort. Skyauction offered us similar accomodations at the Vistana Resort for the dates we needed - for the same price as our winning bit. I'm not sure if it would work every time, but it's worth a try. Good luck!

Most of those auctions w. dates like that will state that if there is no availability for your dates you will not be charged.

Yes, I have used SkyAuction. However, the only ones I have won are for the Ready Set Go auctions. Those are not for a specific place. It's like a voucher good for a certain period of time. You chekc a website to see what they have available and select from that. I checked for Aug 27, and only the following (that I might stay at) are available:

Summer Bay
Vacation Village at Parkway

However, inventory changes form minute to minute. Here is the link if you want to check it out.

Find Weeks

There is more availability on Aug 28th, if you could change your date or find a hotel room for one night.

Hope this helps!

If they don't have availability, they don't charge...

We have used skyauction 4 times so far and I have nothing but good things to say about their service.

They cannot be responsible for the resort end of the deal(ie clean etc...) so I did my research here as to what places to avoid and what places were good and I loved every place we stayed.

We have stayed at Orange Lake 3 times (does not come up too often now) and Vacation Village Parkway (very nice and clean but pushy people there) and Travelodge St. Pete Beach...(older but clean and on the beach for $42 a night was great)

We are looking at Sunterra Resorts Cypress Pointe Grandvillas, Sheraton Vistana Villages, Silver Lake, Fairfield Orlando at Cypress Palms and Summers Bay for our next trip.

I hope it works out for you because it's a great value.

Just a word of caution...it's addictive to travel with them as since it's sooooo affordable you get the urge to travel again sooner.
