SkyAuction Home and Away ?

First, a BIG thank you to all DISers who post about skyauction. I have been watching the skyauction web site for months and have read numerous informative posts about it here on DIS. A special thank you to lawgs and spiceycat.

I recently won my first Home and Away auction. Within a day, I had my certificate number emailed to me. I called getawayweeks immediately and booked the exact date/location I wanted.

My?: This type of auction comes with a $100 travel certificate towards a future auction.
Does this $100 travel certificate ever expire??

Thanks again for all the skyauction posts. The information was invaluable in assisting me.

I couldn't get a straight answer - so I assumed it was a year and used it.....

Also wondering how close to vacation time will getaway weeks/skyauction give the resort my ressie? I would like to call the resort ahead of time and request a non-smoking room.

5 to 3 days before your arrival - sometimes a week - but mind have never been - I can generally get them on 3rd day...

Sorry , one more question if you don't mind:

Can I use the ENTIRE $100 skyauction travel certificate towards the cost of my next auction win?

I was reading the FAQ in skyauction and it lists that you can only use $50 in coupons (but doesn't say anything specific about a $100 travel certificate) at a time.

With the home and away auction I recently won, the person I spoke to at skyauction deducted $55 (in Skycash I had) from the total amount of the auction.

I use the entire thing on my next auction...so I am assuming you can.

The $55 skycash was from the skyauction refer a friend program offered on their web site.

I pmed you the details since it is quite lengthy.

Glad to know that you were able to use your entire $100 certificate towards the cost of one auction.

it is not a surprise. I bet the owners are mad.

CWR promised to have a restuarant, gift shop, gym and a bunch of other things. Nothing new has been built since I have been going to it...

the owners have been complainting a while....

each time CWR promises it will built these things - and doesn't.... It should admit until they sell their current villas they aren't building anything...

but you know timeshares promise anything deliver nothing....

oh one owner was complainting about the activities - she showed up with her kids and no one else was there.....

as long as they leave us some "timeshares" to get into

we just got back from VV at P....at least they are accomodating the exchangers a bit better now....we were in building 11 ....everything was top notch....at least you can sit on the sofas/sleeper bed in these units
