I am a complete newbie when it comes to booking Disney vacations - I have been browsing these threads and found them quite helpful, though.
I have seen some people discuss Skyauction.com and appear to have had good experience, but I am currently looking at an auction and wonder if anyone has had experience with the auctions where you bid on a week and they can book you in 1 of a sampling of resorts (in my case, 34). Do you find that some of these resorts are less than acceptable and you end up paying more than it is worth?
Here are the potentials listed in the auction:
Barefoot'n in the Keys at Old Town (#4934)
Bryan's Spanish Cove (#1613)
Celebration World Resort (#5389)
Celebrity Resorts Lake Buena Vista (#8616)
Celebrity Resorts Orlando-Oaks (#8614)
Celebrity Resorts Orlando-Spas (#8615)
Celebrity Resorts Orlando-Resort World (#8687)
Celebrity Resorts Orlando-Resort World II (#8688)
Club Sevilla (#5169)
Cypress Pointe Grande Villas Resort (#3996)
Cypress Pointe Resort (#2750)
Florida Vacation Villas (#0776)
Florida Vacation Villas Club I (#6740)
Grand Beach I (#3664)
Grand Beach II (#6315)
Grand Lake Resort (#4300)
High Point World Resort (#2066)
Orbit One Vacation Villas (#5109)
Orlando's Sunshine Resort (#1998)
Orlando's Sunshine Resort II (#5592)
Sheraton Vistana Resort (#0450)
Silver Lake Resort (#2610)
Silver Lake Resort-Silver Points (#6815)
Star Island Resort
Summer Bay Resort (#3175)
The Fountains (#7605)
The Houses at Summer Bay Resort (#6884)
Vacation Village at Parkway (#4940)
Villas at Fortune Place (#3654)
Villas at Summer Bay Resort (#5995)
Westgate Leisure Resort (#4206)
Westgate Vacation Villas (#0899)
Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort (#6369)
Wyndham Cypress Palms (#3995)
Do any of those jump out as a bad resort/bad deal? The auction is ending fairly soon, so I was not sure if I would have a chance to look each of them up before I would need to bid, so any quick responses would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
