Skyauction and CP/CPGV... chances in high season?

Hey folks!
Just wondering if people have experience with winning Skyauctions for peak periods. I'd be looking for a week or so in July - is that too much to expect, that an auction for that time might come available?

Also, can you ever add days to an auction you've won? I'm guessing no...

We won 2 different Skyauctions for Orange Lake Resort (one was a RSG, the other a multiple resort listing--different resorts, different availability dates, all for Orlando) for back to back weeks for December of last year. The second week included Christmas...and I was shocked to see it come available! Generally, when holiday/peak weeks are available, they seem to be listed as individual auctions, and often command a higher price.

As to whether you can add days to an auction...I'm not sure but this is my plan...We're planning to make a reservation for 10 days through Hotelkingdom for CP, and then hoping our week comes up on Skyauction for a better rate. If so, we'll use the SA week, cancelling the HK ressie during that time frame, but keep the extra 3 days reserved through HK...We'd have to pay a $20 cancellation fee, but it could save us almost $400.

summer for most timeshares owners in Orlando is not hot season - much too HOT and Humity(sp?)

the parks can be very crowded.

So I would think your chances are pretty good. I would try for 2 skyauction weeks back to back before trying a rental.

although Local_girl sugestion using HK is a pretty neat one.

I have 2 timeshares back to back - for this up coming trip....


only a few days more - I can't wait!!!!
