Skyauction advice

I'm sorry if this is asked often, I tried reading pages of posts before posting myself My husband and I went to Disney in May 2005 (it was my 1st time) and we got a 7 night stay at Vacation Village at Parkway through Skyauction. It was super cheap and perfect accomodations for what we needed. Now we are planning on going May 2008. We now have a 1.5 y/o daughter. We like the idea of a condo b/c of the kitchen and washer/dryer because of the baby. A one bedroom is fine. I have been lurking on sky auction for about 2 weeks, but haven't seen any condo deals for May. I am too late or maybe too early? You can't beat a condo for about $300. Any other similar suggestions within that range. We are willing to spend more, but I just don't want to jump ahead if I will be able to get something on SkyAuction. There is not as many resorts on Skyauction as before. Note the service charge and taxes are now $295 plus $20 transaction fee so that means the cheapest unit is now $315 + $1 bid=$316. Some good last minute deals if you can wait or try ready set go auctions. Not having a lot of luck on real good deals myself this year and have used skyauction for 8 years.

I have found the best inventory with skyauction is about 6-8 weeks from the time you want it.

The ready, set , go auctions have increased the service fees to $295, but the Home and Away certificates are still $195. With those, you get the 7 day condo rental and then you get a certificate for $100 to use on future auctions. I haven't used them myself but it looks like a good deal.

When SkyAuction was having the sale on the travel certificates for 179, we bought 7 of them. These were the certificates that went through getawayweeks.com and We got dates in Orlando from April 27 to May 24.

The new Home and Away is straight through RCI and the set up is awful. They dont tell you how many bedrooms are available and dont let you chose a date range.

But if they have a sale where you can buy them and not have to bid or go through the rci site to buy them, I am hitting the bank acount hard again. My parents are at Disney for 7 weeks for $1273. Can anyone beat that? I dont think so.

As suggested, try to get a "Getaway week" for $179 or a comparable "Ready, Set, Go". I did a search for a Getaway week and found the follwoing available for May:

Thanks for the help everyone!!!! They have since posted 2 auctions that may work for us. I am trying to get into the Summer Bay resorts (from the selection in the auction). But I am going to check out what Home and Away deals there are too.

I have used Skyauction several times, you have to watch for the deals. I had 3 of the $100 gift cert deals and that was back when the fee was $195, some that I got were as is.. so no fee was added but the processing fee. I also got in on their clearance deal at the end of the year. I got 3 weeks at that $179 per week deal.. with no fee's added but the $20 service fee I can kick myself for not buying more!
