Does anyone have any tips with the use of sky cots? I was thinking in particular of how you put a sheet of some discription over the baby. My DS will be 5 months when we fly in 3 weeks and have nenver used this before.

I read somewhere about clips that can be used, but was wondering what type of clips and where do you clip them?

Thanks

I'm taking it that you flying internationally. You are brave!!!

I would take one of those sleep sacks instead and put that on your DS. I've only seen the cots on BA and Aer Lingus and they are pretty small, I doubt you'd find a sheet that small

Last time I used one was 20 years ago. There was a cloth cover that zipped closed and covered the baby when sleeping/lying down. It was explained to me that the cover would keep baby in the cot in the unlikely event the plane dropped. Kinda like a seat belt. As for sheets, I brought a couple of my own pillowcases and tucked them in here and there so my daughter was lying on a clean surface. Have a great trip!!:goodvibes

:) We used these on our trips home from Korea with our ds and dd...any time there was any kind of turbulence, we had to take them out of the bed and hold them. I found that even on the long flight from Seoul home that the only time I really used them was when I was eating...
:)a pillowcase will work, and a sleepsac is a great idea!

I have flown VA back and forth to England with little ones and used the sky cots alot:) I always bring recieving blankets or small cotton sheets/blankets which I use for the "cot". The flight staff have always been great and brought blankets etc and its been fine. Remember that every time the seatbelt sign is on you have to pull the baby out:(

Let me know if you have any other questions.
