sky auction/closest resort

we are going to disney oct 7 - 15. i've been looking at sky auction. we are not into fancy accomodations, basically clean and close to disney. we stayed in a house last year and really liked the kitchen area and washer/dryer. there are 5 of us but 1 will always pick the couch so she can watch tv to sleep. my question is which resort on sky auction is close to disney. we will also do universal for several days. i don't mind some drive, we will have a car, but i don't want to drive for 30 min to disney. also any resorts to stay away from?

I think the shortest easiest drive is from Silver Lake Resort. It is a few minutes to AK and a relatively traffic free drive to the rest of the parks.

Cypress Pointe is a good location if you also want to drive to Universal. It is an easy drive up Turkey Lake Road to the back entrance of Universal. It takes about 10 minutes to get to the Disney parks.

Stick with a 2 bedroom if you can. They are becoming harder to come by but some one bedroom units say they sleep 5 but can be small. I have not stayed at Orbit One, but it is close to Silver Lake and often has two bedroom units available.

Cypress pointe - DD side

Silver Lake - AK side.

Westgate - AK (don't ask me about Westgate)

Sheraton Vistana - DD side

Byran's Spanish Cove - DD side

Wyndham Palms - AK side - some people hate this place - others love it

Magic Tree - AK side - very small - converted hotels - but it does get good reviews

Celebration World Resort -still building, so construction might be an issue - allows PETS!!! SPICEY can stay here!!! - AK side

all of these resorts are within 5 to 10 miles of a WDW theme parks - probably closer to the 5 miles. (they are all within a couple of miles of WDW property)

Westgate Lakes is right across the street from Sea World and seemed to be equidistant between WDW and Universal. You can use Turkey Lake Road (I think that's the name) to get to either location without getting on I-4.
