We always go to 50's Prime Time. Always. We all love it. However, since this is our last trip for quite a while, we wanted to eat at different places.

If I skip 50's PT, will I be sorry afterward? Did you ever skip your one "must do" restaurant? :)

We're skipping our favorite on our May trip in order to try other places. As I told my family, "so many restaurants, so few nights." If I regret it, we'll add it back on the next trip.

Our June trip we plan on skipping Alfredos and adding LeCellier, we need to try something new. We also added O'hana and CPalace for 4th of July night. We did keep Chef Mickey but changed to breakfast. Had to keep Boma, that was new last year and we really liked this addition. I get a lot of questions why we go to WDW every year, this is why, we can eat our way around the world and never get back in a car or fly to anouther country. Keeping or $$$$ in the U.S.A.

We ALWAYS do Hoop Dee Doo. On this last trip I thought to myself "I'm not going to do HDDR this time. We've been three times, I will have an 11 year old and two 14 year olds with me, why bother, they are probably too old and jaded for it."

Man, when I got to Disney, boy did I catch FLACK for not booking this. Then when I tried to book it on my trip, they had no openings. Everyone was bummed. Even now when we talk about last year's trip, the kids remind me of how I made them miss their favorite place.

So the answer is YES you will regret it.

We've always done Rainforest Cafe, WCC, and the breakfast buffet at Crystal palace. However, our last trip was the first time we've been back in nearly 5 years (stationed in Hawaii & CA). We were on the dining plan and wanted to try all the places we would have a hard time paying OOP for. Now we have new must do's!!! Le Cellier and Ohana's our now our newest favorites. So..live a little...you may find new favorites.

PS...though I would happily return to WCC, we decided on our third trip to RFC that it just was not high quality food for the price (we were only going b/c the kids were so crazy about it). And though CP has had an OUTSTANDING breakfast buffet on the two occasions we've been, my kids aren't crazy about pooh & friends. So...we have ressies at Boma's for bf in Oct. Reckon it will be our new favorite breakfast buffet?

the very thought of missing Earl of Sandwish makes me SO sad!

(I have nothing constructive to add... but I think you should know that you just killed a little part of my soul)

One of our favorite restaurants is Marrakesh. We ate their on our honeymoon and we'd eaten there every trip since.

We skipped it last trip - just couldn't fit it in. It was on the plans, but we switched to Jiko last minute.

Didn't miss it. Jiko was good, and it was nice to do something new.

My husband went back with his brother, and they made time for Marrakesh. And he said "it was OK, but I'm glad we did something different."

I suspect I'll talk my DH out of Le Cellier next time....which has been a must for two trips now. Its good, but there are better steaks at Disney and more restaurants to try.

Our family tradition is the Ohana character breakfast. But I'm on the edge of deciding next trip we will do something different. I think the thing about having traditions dependant on Disney is that Disney changes things - we like the Ohana breakfast - but a prefer a tradition of "a" character meal, not a specific one....that way, if Ohana is closed for a remodel during one of our trips, I don't have a brokenhearted family.

Sorry cannot pass up going to my favourite restaurants. Crystal Palace, Sci-Fi, Hollywood&Vine, all have to be done at least once every trip.
If I run out of days, I sometimes stay longer. This trip I am already thinking about adding more days to the ten already booked.

I cannot pass up the Kona Cafe for breakfast. No, no ,no! :thumbsup2

:sad2: We are skipping Hoop-Dee-Doo. We've opted to do Mickey's Backyard BBQ instead, thanks to a somewhat democratic vote (I voted for HDD, btw-boohoo). We've done HDD on the last four trips, and 2 years ago we did both HDD and Mickey's BYBBQ. Too expensive for 8 people to do both.

We also opted out of CRT. Since the menu change, we just can't see spending the money on food that we won't enjoy just to eat in the castle. :confused3

Skipping Crystal Palace lunch :cloud9: , to try breakfast there instead. I couldnt fit in anothe lunch or dinner at Crystal Palace anywhere on our schedule :confused3 .

Our traditions are Kona Cafe for breakfast and California Grill. Yum to both. I can't imagine skipping either.

We do have many other favorites but can't get to all of them in a single trip anyway. We're trying the meal plan for the DVC part of our next trip, so we will miss more than usual as well as try some new counter service places. We haven't been to many of those.

Like your tradition, Uncleromulus. :thumbsup2

We have more than one must do. Kona Cafe for breakfast on the first full day is a tradition and if I skipped that, I would be sorry. However, we have other must do's and we have skipped them before. No, we weren't sorry really because we know we're going back again. You however won't be going back for awhile so I say don't do it. Go to 50's Prime Time.

We have a must do now for dinner - Blue Zoo. I was in Orlando on business in January for a few days and I decided to stay at POR vs. off-site. My husband joined me the last couple of days. We skipped Blue Zoo. It'll make me enjoy it all the more when we do go back. Again, if I knew it would be like a year before we go back, I wouldn't skip it.

We are the same way. We eat at Fultons every trip. Until our last trip occurs, decades from now, as long as Fultons is there we will make time to eat there.

Ohana was a 'must do' for us, until they changed the menu that is. We haven't been back since they got rid of the pineapple with caramel sauce. On the other hand, we didn't have time to eat at Beaches and Cream last trip and we will not make that mistake again. We didn't miss the food so much as we missed seeing our favorite server at WDW :thumbsup2

Ours is CG. We've eaten here on every trip since 2002. We've never been disappointed, so we'll continue to go back.

Our 2 Must Do's are Fulton's and Cape May Cafe (Breakfast and Dinner). We skipped Fulton's once. Did we miss it? Not really. There's so many nice places we haven't tried. We went back last year and found that it wasn't that big a deal if we went once every few years. Now Cape May Cafe is another story! We love their breakfast and dinner. I don't see how we could miss it. We always have a great experience there every single time.

If 50'S PT is your absolute favorite and you won't be back for some time..then go. But if you can go there the following year then skip it.

Yes, we are skipping Chef Mickey's this August. My DH loves to eat there for dinner - but after 4 years in a row, and the same buffet, momma (me) said it's time for a change. In order to keep him happy with a buffet, I have chosen 1900 Park Fare at the GF. I hope the food is good.
