We ate there last week, around 7-7:30pm we walked up and had about a 30 minute wait. It wasn't overly busy inside. The smaller side rooms looked well themed but the main room was boring....I think they just slapped up some wall decorations and didn't really spend time worrying about the theme.
Our serve was a dud and service was slooooow. She didn't joke at all but the host did tell a few jokes as he seated us and told us that our server was great fun....wrong. She disappeared for long periods when we needed her.
The bread was like a wheat style bread with odd seasoning that none of us were crazy about....is it tarragon? The honey sauce is too sweet and doesn't compliment the bread. I asked for butter which was an improvement and at least made it edible.
DH got the steak, ordered it medium, it came out very well done and dry. I thought it had a nice flavor....he didn't agree. The yucca fries were pretty good and he ate them....pretty much tastes like a french fry but with a little bit different texture.
I had the Baladi Salad which is just a basic boring salad, nothing special. The dressing was lemon based with seasonings I wasn't crazy about. The server said it was like Italian dressing but I don't agree with her. (That said, I got a boring salad at T-Rex and it was fantastic....crisp, cold and fresh and the dressing was great.)
DD8 got chicken noodle soup. It had what I think was Asian noodles which were loooong and hard for her to eat. The broth was flavorless and it had two 3 inch long pieces of chicken thrown on top. She usually loves soup but didn't like this. She did love the fruit salad which was pretty with well ripened fruit - watermelon, kiwi and strawberries.
We all know that Disney restaurants are expensive, that said, this restaurant is hugely over priced for what you get. The atmosphere is lacking so that doesn’t make up for the price. Maybe if the skipper had been better, that would have helped.
Until they make some major changes, we won’t go back.
