Hi, Disney Friends!

For our upcoming trip, I'm debating on whether eating at Skipper Canteen or The Plaza for dinner. Please let me know your thoughts and opinions! Thanks in advance!

Skipper for sure. Plaza seems more like lunch type fare and Skipper menu is way more interesting.

We like the Plaza for lunch. It's definitely your standard lunch food.. burgers and fries, Club sandwich, steak sandwich, etc. If you want something more substantial than a sandwich and fries for dinner then I would go with Skipper.

It really depends on your pallette and if you like slightly different meals. We love Skippers Canteen, we love the atmosphere, we love the hokey jokes, we love the food. We were ok with Plaza, we ate lunch there. It was crazy crowded so a little noisy, our server was not the best server for the busy day,she literally threw my plate to me because our table was so close to the able next to us and I was in the back and she couldn't squeeze by. The portion sizes were bigger at the Plaza, which is a negative for us because I don't eat big meals. Either one is o.k. but for us, Skipper's would be a first choice.

I also think of the Plaza as more of a lunch place simply because it has more basic sandwich and salad stuff but it is still a lot of food. Skipper Canteen seems more like a dinner spot because their items are heavier.

My friend and I had Skipper for lunch when we went in March (never been to Plaza so can't comment), and we loved it. It was a great break right in the thick of Adventureland, and I didn't think the food was too heavy (I got the steak salad, she got the chicken).

Plaza - tuna sandwich, ice cream.

Skipper - Chines roast pork, dumplings.

We like both.

Some days we like simple (Plaza), some days 'exotic' (Skipper).

Coin-flip.

Skippers and Plaza are both great!

Plaza is so quaint and relaxed. Love the art nouveau touches everywhere. Food is quality and not too expensive (for Disney of course!)

Skippers is amazing! It's more of an "experience" I'd say, and the food is not the usual fare. Also, the waiters will tell Jungle Cruise style groan inducing jokes! They did a pretty amazing job on the decor as well.

The Plaza is just standard Americian food that you can have anywhere. Skipper's has a much more interesting menu.

The food at Skipper Canteen is definitely more interesting. The Plaza is good in a pinch, but I don't consider it a destination.

Depends on general preferences and how much "more exotic" food you have where you live, I think. We have excellent variety at home wrt types of cuisine, etc. and are really adventurous eaters. So for us, I guess we were comparing Skipper to that, and really found it bland and lacking. My feeling is that it's harder to mess up basic American fare, so we might go with that if those were the only two options.

In truth, we really aren't fans of either of these places, opting most often for LTT when in MK (or BOG for dinner sometimes); would probably opt for Columbia Harbor House CS before these two options.

Hope you enjoy whichever you choose!! :)
