Skip WOC? Q's about mainstreet electric parade and F!

As much as my family would love to see WOC, my kids are little and my son has FA. So we dont want to get a picnic or dining reservations. It doesn't seem that standing in the back will be worth it so do we skip it? My kids will not last until the last show at 11:15. We do want to see the electric parade..it is at DCA and usually around 8:45?? How soon do we have to camp out for the parade....What about fireworks at DCA and DLR??? We don't want to miss those....what time do they start? Best place for viewing and how far in advance do we camp out? Also, would like to see F! but how does this work? We saw it at WDW and we camped out about 1 hour before but it ampitheater seating what is is like at DLR?? Thanks!!!

Electrical parade is not currently at DCA. They shipped it to WDW for the summer. No official word has been given on when/if it will return to DCA.

Fireworks are at 9:30 PM. People start camping out for the prime in-front-of-the-castle viewing spots hours in advance. If you're not so picky though, you have other options. You can busy yourself with other things on Main Street until show time and then join the masses. You will not see the castle projections or likely the characters on the zipline. You will mostly see the fireworks (view may be partially obstructed) and hear all of the music. You could watch from near IASW. We enjoy this location. Again, no castle view. IASW does have it's own projections during the show though. You get a very good view of most of the fireworks. You can watch from near the Rivers of America. This is most usually done by those who just finished watching the first Fantasmic show.

Fantasmic is at 9:05 and (I think) 10:30. Depending on the season, people will start camping out as early as 6 or 7. There is a sitting area on the ground along the river and behind that a standing only area. You can purchase a special dessert package that gives you a box of goodies, all-you-can-drink coffee, cocoa, water, and fountain drinks, and a chair to sit in. You do not have to camp out for that, but rather check-in at 8 PM (I think) and then return before showtime. The price is a bit steep for us: $59 adults, $49 children, so I have never personally done this but many here on the boards have.

well here is a little known trick you can do for the fireworks, I used to be so picky that I would wait for fireworks that started at 930pm as early as 7pm! people thought I was crazy but I jsut had to sit right in front of the castle! after doing this for so long I figured out that to be in front of the castle you do not have to be there hours easlier

ok so right now since its the busy season, you can sit down and wait for the fireworks but they are eventually going to make you stand up! they do this about 20-30 minutes before the show actually starts, you mentioned you had little ones who will probably get frustrated just sitting there waiting, what you can do when you see people starting to sit in front of the castle is ask a castmember around what time they will make everyone stand up so you can return at that time.

Around 9ish they ask everyone to stand up and move back, which makes alot of room! since a lot of poeple are camping out on huge blankets and stuff good luck!

You have the option with WOC to get a fastpass at the GRR fastpass station starting at 9:30 (or 9 if you're staying on property). Those are in the same sections as the picnic meals, so you wouldn't be spending the $15 per person, but you do have to wait in the line for the FP.

You could buy the picnic meals anyway, and just purchase something else for your son to eat, if you don't want to stand in the FP line.

The one that was at DCA was Called the Disney Electrical Parade...the one at MK now is the Main street electrical...

They are both different but similar....like Spectromagic.....

but either way with WOC there is no Electrical parade right now

Okay..... here I go to attempt to untangle this one.

Once upon a time there was a parade at DL called, "Main Street Electrical Parade." It ended. It was sent to WDW where it was seen at MK for a couple of years. At this time most of it was sent back to DLR, but a few floats were sent to Disneyland Paris.

However, when it returned to DLR(slightly changed), it was placed over at DCA. Since it was no longer seen on Main Street (which is in DL) the name was changed to "Disney's Electrical Parade." The floats that were sent to Paris were bought to DCA as well. The Blue Fairy float went away, the Tink float (and accompanying pixie dust throughout all the floats) was added.

"Disney's Electrical Parade" was recently packed up (again) and shipped to WDW where it can now be seen at the MK.

There are rumors that this is short-term, and I hope this is true as it is my most favorite parade ever!

Well I know when i saw it on opening night this summer a bunch of different cast members had said it was shipped from Disneyland Paris for this summer.
