Skip TSM?

If we're not into video games, should we skip this in favor of using fp for Tot and RnR - which we love? Just wondering if it's worth the hassle. (btw, I do love Toy Story the movie) and we'll be there the busiest day of the year - this Wednesday New Years Eve! at rd - 8am! and not planning on staying past 1-2pm. An advice appreciated!

I'm not into video games either, but I LOVED it! It was so much fun!! I would say you have to do it at least once. That way you'll know if it's worth it again or not. Definitely get fastpass right away as they do go very quuickly. Have a great time!

I would do it at least once....see what you think....it was fun the 1st time but I was bored on ride 3...I would do it 1 time but if you are there NYE you may have to sacrifice...better do TSM at RD...maybe not waste FP, ride TSM then head to RNR and TOT, ride 1 FP other...JMHO

Will you be back for another trip in the future? If so then I would skip it this trip and do it next time - as it gets older the lines for it will die down some. Even on the dead weeks this ride has a crazy wait time - always triple digits. For NYE it will probably be several hours!

Of course if you get a FP even if it's not good for several hours, you can get another after 2 hours. It's up to you

This is what we did when we went in Dec. I told the boys we'd try in June when we go--hopefully the lines will be less by then. We really wanted to ride Star Tours (love that ride!) and DS and DH hadn't ridden it yet, so we headed over there at rope drop. That side of the park was abandoned because everyone was over at TSM so we had a great time knocking everything out over there :thumbsup2

Have to try It at least once, after that you can decide from there, but I would try to do it on maybe another day then NYE,have fun.

I wouldn't wait three hours for it, but I'd try it. I do think though that what others have said is true. Early in the day, you'll find that area most crowded. During super busy times, it may make sense to skip it.

That's what I was going to ask. TSM is a lot of fun but if I were there during such a busy week and loved ToT and RnRC, I'd do those instead.

Have fun on your trip!

:) Michele

This is the best ride Disney has ever done in my opinion. I even like the que with Mr. Potato Head.

I would suggest the fastest person in your group to run over to the TSM ride's FP. Make sure he has everyone's tickets to get the FP vouchers. The rest of you go over to the TOT. The fast person will hopefully find you in the que at TOT after he has the TSM fastpasses and he can join you there. You may have to let a few people in before you at TOT, but it's still a little head start for that ride. I don't think anyone else will be upset if it's only one of you trying to join up with your group.

While you wait for your FP time for TSM you can do the other rides you want. I think that will work out and you will be able to do all three. I would do TOT before RnR coaster as the best strategy.

Depending on your FP time you may have to walk back and forth for all three rides.

Don't pass up the opportunity to do this ride; especially since, you are going there for early morning.

If you don't like the above idea then you should all go over to the TSM ride together and stand in the regular line immediately. It shouldn't be more than a two hour wait if you do that way.

In my experience if you go right at opening the queue to get fastpasses is initially longer than the standby ride. We waited like 20 mins and we are quick walkers. I've heard of people waiting 40. This is just to get the fastpass. If you jump in the standby line right away it would probably be shorter.

But, this is on a normal day, not on NYE. We were at MK on Xmas day this year at opening. There were EEMH and we walked on several rides, so maybe it won't be bad. Good luck if you decide to do this!

The theming is first rate. TSM is fun for all ages. You need to try it at least once and get back with us later. Be sure to hit it first thing in the am due to its popularity.

As several people have stated, TSM is amazing! Just walking through the lines checking out the detail in the rooms is worth a wait. The ride is a lot of fun. We liked Buzz a lot, but in this one you can actually see your shots, so you can try to improve your aim. In Space Ranger Spin, I can never tell which little beam of light is mine! You need to do it once, if at all possible, IMHO.

Wow! Thanks for all the replies - I will trust my fellow Dis-er's and try this at least once. Not sure yet if we'll do standby all together 1st thing, or get a fp, but it does sound like it's worth the effort to get it in, esp. since this may be our last trip for awhile. Thanks!

We loved it and went on several times our last trip. I love it more than Buzz Light year. It is a great addition to HS

I'd say send your runner to R&RC for fast passes while the rest of you boogie to the standby line for TSM

I agree except I would sent the runner to ToT...and use single rider for RnR if thats an option....

as it gets older the lines for it will die down some.

Any thoughts on when this will slow down? Of course I know no one has a crystal ball (except Robo!!!), but just wondering about the history of this sort of thing with new attractions? Is it a year or more before they "settle in" to more normal wait times? We're going in May.

this is not necisariily true there is still a huge rush to Space Moutain every morning....so if its really that good there will always be a mad dash for it...what makes it bad is the street its on and the park it is in...just not a good spot or park for crowd control....

Maybe there is a reason this is the most popular ride. It is a must see for us. This is the most innovated ride to date. If you have a competitive bone in your body you will enjoy this ride. Great fun for the whole family! Give it a shot at least once.

This may be a little off topic, but I think if you have the time, nothing should be skipped. I have been to WDW many, many times, but it amazes me how everytime I go back I notice something I have never noticed before. If you take the time to go over every nook & cranny of the world you will truly be pleased.
