Skip the Counter or Accerated Check In

I want to make sure I have this correct. Accelerated check in only allows you to use the kiosk vs counter. In order to go to the garage we have to use Skip the Counter, but we have to enter our credit card info online. Can you do this a day prior ro arriving?

What rental car company? I expect they may differ some. For Alamo, I check in online the night before, enter all my information, and they send me a bar code to go straight to the garage and pick any vehicle in my category row. Then at the exit booth show the reservation/barcode, credit card, and drivers license and go.

It has worked well for me. You do need to put in your credit card info when checking in online. It’s probably not necessary but I always print out everything to have a hard copy of my reservation and skip the counter code. I reserve through Costco, they give me the Alamo confirmation number for online checkin.

I always use Alamo's skip the counter. Sign in ahead of time on the website (I do it the night before), print out the ticket with the barcode (or do it on your phone and and the barcode will show up on your phone). When you land, walk off the plane, go to level 1 to get luggage if checked, walk across the street to where the rental cars are, pick out your car (they have people there if you need help), go to the exit booth, show your barcode and your license. Go through the gate and go right to exit the airport.

I have done the whole process in 15 minutes!

Note: If you are taking JetBlue and coming into the new Terminal C you will have to catch a shuttle bus to Terminal B to pick up your car. You get the bus outside Level 6, which is were the luggage carousels are. Taking the bus adds about half an hour to the process.

You can return the car directly to Terminal C. From Alamo drop off in C garage to the terminal is a long walk with several ups and downs on elevators and escalators. Allow extra time.

In my experience, it isn't charged until you return the car. BTW, a few days before yo arrive, go on the Alamo website and look for last-minute rates. May be cheaper than what you have.

Yes that's right, Accelerated Check in lets use the Kiosk instead of Counter. Skip the Counter lets you go straight to your car of choice in the level you rented. Normally on the website when your done with Accelerated check in they immediately ask you if you want to Skip the Counter and that's when you enter Credit card info. They don't charge your card though until you return the rental. Just make sure you have the CC you reserved with, your drivers license, and the reservation with the barcode for when you get to the gate.
