Skip CC, and just make the last day at sea?

Does anyone think Disney would ever do this? :duck:

The other CC thread aroused my curiosity. Many people dislike being rushed on the last day, yet love CC. I know that since last year's hurricanes, some itineraries have been changed to include two-stoppers at CC.

I'm just wondering if people would prefer CC first, eliminating the 2nd CC stop, and just enjoying the last day at sea?

We're cruising the Carnival Glory in March, and our last day is at sea, and I'm relieved that we'll have the last day to take our time packing, etc.

Don't get me wrong, CC is my favorite stop, and I WOULD prefer two days there instead of one. My question is more does anyone think Disney would ever do this, and if not why. (I know some of you die-hard DCL cruisers, or other cruises can speculate.) :D

I love the idea of 2 days a CC and would like the last day at sea as well. Maybe they could give up a day at sea earlier. :boat:

Please tell me that you don't devote more than 20 minutes of your beloved vacation packing to go home!!!! It all needs to be washed anyway, so stuff it in the suitcase, and worry about it once you are home... enjoy that precious vacation time- it shouldn't be spent in the stateroom folding dirty clothes just so!!!!

I would really like to have the last day at sea. It is very difficult to get back on the ship and immediately start packing to order to make the 11PM luggage cut off and also get ready for dinner and the shows. A relaxing day at sea to pack and prepare to leave the ship would be so much nicer.

Having traveled on the Wonder twice, our first trip included a stop in Freeport, thus making CC the last day. On our most recent trip, CC was our third day and a day at sea our last day -- I definitely prefer that order, as we were not rushing off CC to get the children ready for their show.

Thereby enjoying the last day having brunch at Palo's and enjoying the ship!

No kikipug. I don't spend my last day folding clothes 'just so.'

Unfortunately, it takes us much longer than 20 minutes to pack. (I wished it didn't.)

I just don't want to be 'rushed' the last day.

Does anyone else here agree?

On our recent 4 day special sailing of the Magic (Jan 4-8) we went to Nassau on Wednesday, CC on Thursday, then had a sea day of Friday, before returning to Port Canaveral on Saturday. That sea day was great, as we were able to take our time getting our suitcases packed in the afternoon without feeling rushed.

Hey Verandah Man and family! Great to see your posts again! (We've spent too much time away from these boards in recent weeks, and it's good to be back posting with familiar (and new ones too) DCL cruisers.) :D

I'm not trying to start an arguement... I just can't see setting any measurable amount of time aside to pack! I bring a garbage bag when I travel, put it somewhere that I can fill it with dirty clothes as the week goes on... stuff the entire bag (bag and all) into the suitcase at the end of the week- if you do have clean clothes left in the suitcase that you didn't wear yet, they stay separated by the bag... In terms of toiletries... after you use it for the last time, put it away! Souvenirs... if they aren't for you, don't buy them!!! (It also isn't a 'law' that you have to put your bags out... you can walk off the ship with them... they are yours, after all!!)

I too would much prefer the last day to be a day at sea and CC earlier (maybe a day sooner.) It is awful trying to get that wet suit dry, things packed, ready for dinner, see a show, etc. EEK! It would be a welcome change in my eyes.

We've done 1 three day cruise and I would love to pass up Nassau and spend the day at sea or another day at CC. :boat:

Of course we didn't get off the ship in Nassau and spent the day at the pool and went to a movie, took a nap and so forth. :flower1: :flower:

I like the idea of CC followed by a day at Sea. We don't have kids so don't have some of the rushing that others do (more packing, getting kids to their performance, etc.)

On the 10 day the weather was cool and our excursion cancelled so we spent the day as if it was a sea day. We did our packing, relaxed more, DH took in a movie and I went to the spa. It was nice.

To me the hassel of the last day at CC is the wet suits, sand, etc. I'd be just as happy having CC be the first stop, but Disney wanted to save the best of the trip for last.

I am just wondering how a day at sea makes packing easy/better... For us, 5 people, just by going to dinner/show makes packing a pain. You have to rush back from dinner/show and change back to normal clothes anyhow. But CC wasn’t a big issue for us on the packing thing. Even if it was spent at see I would assume people are still going to have wet suits to deal with. Just my 2 cents. BTW only been on one cruise so maybe I am missing something lol

As I am not a CC lover I would prefer a day a sea the last day. I will say that I allowed our kids to dress pretty casual for the last diner (they may even have worn shorts and golf shirts) but we were in Parrot Cay. I spent more than 20 minutes packing only because I couldn't find my car keys a long long story in itself. We wore jeans home since we were flying north. My family on the other hand would rather go to CC. I will add I think the best pictures that I got from my whole trip were from CC.

I know you weren't trying to start an argument Karen. :D

The point I was trying to make was that it'd be nice to relax the last day, and not have to 'rush'.

We've done the 'plastic trash bags' on the last 3 Disney cruises, works like a charm.

DD and I bring lots of shoes, and a different outfit for each night, and DH brings a suit and a tux. (That's another thread in itself.) As a result, we maximize our luggage allowance, and one can bet that we're going to take full advantage of the services provided by leaving our bags outside our stateroom door the last night. ::yes::

Souveniers? I usually don't buy any for myself, but DD usually buys one or two.

I love CC, yet I also enjoy the activites of the last night and wish I could take it all in at a slower pace, and wondered if anyone else thought the same. It looks as if many others do. :D
