Let say you are going on a four day trip and want to do two days in MK, which park would you skip and why?

Our next trip we are skipping AK. We are going for a pre-Christmas trip so we want to do alot of Christmasy activities. This trip we would rather spend time checking out Holiday decorations at the resorts. While planning our days we just could not find a time to fit AK in, we may change our minds and with Hopper passes we can, but as of now AK is a no-go.

Animal Kingdom because there are really only 3 or 4 rides that my family wants to do, and they don't really care if we miss them anyway.

For me- I don't care for animals so much and the Hubs really enjoys thrill rides so we would skip AK.

If you're asking for advice on what to skip I would say that it totally depends on who's coming with you. Some families are REALLY into animals and not into Disney movies or shows so skip DHS and head over to AK.

Favorites at DAK:
  • FOTLK
  • ITTBAB
  • KS
  • General Atmosphere

Favorites at DHS:
  • 50s Prime Time Cafe
  • Beauty and the Beast
  • ToT
  • RnR
  • Muppets

I guess I would skip DAK.

For us, it'd be Epcot. We also do 4 day/4 night trips/ Although, because we have teens, we don't need to spend two days at MK, so we do them all.

Looking at the ages of your kids, def AK. If they were younger, I may say Epcot or DHS, but teenagers would really only be interested in Everest.

WE would skip HS if we had 3 days.
While it has thrill rides, cupcakes and TSM, we love the other parks more.

In four days, with the requirement of 2 days at MK, we would hit AK for the early part of the day and HS the same evening. The only thing you will probably miss out on is TSM.

Some people may do AK during day and evening at Epcot.

It depends on so many factors. Is this the only trip ever to WDW? What ages are the park goers? Do you like thrill rides or shows? No right or wrong way - just do what works for you and yours.

I am assuming the Posters question is hypothetical, since they have been there before.

Funny my family was just discussing this for our Christmas trip! To my surprise they all said to skip AK. I really thought they would say Epcot, but at 9 and 11 they ended up loving Epcot! AK doesn't have a ton of stuff, although I personally enjoy the shows!

We've skipped DAK on our last two visits. DD #1 just doesn't enjoy it...she's absolutely an animal lover, but says she'd much rather spend the afternoon at the local zoo where she can really be hands on. And I don't get too excited about it, either. We don't do any of the rides there except the safari and even that is sort of boring in our opinion.

I think everyone should go to every park for at least a day.

My most frequently skipped park is DS. I don't much care for the surroundings and there isn't a whole lot I like to do there. I only like...

Tot
RnRc
TGMR
Muppets

And occasionally OMD and the Mermaid show.

That's it.

I don't like Fantasmic, either.

So, that's the park I skip. :)

Actually, looking at your kids' ages, you may not want to spend two days at MK, for we have kids that age and we find, although it's our favorite park, there isn't as much to do for older ones as younger ones.

P.S. My kids (15 and 13) love Animal Kingdom

DHS for us.

We have a 7 year old DD that loves the animals so skipping AK isn't for us. Also AK is really different from the MK or Epcot so it's more of a draw.

I don't like thrill rides so TOT and RRC are out for me, take those two out of the picture and DHS really doesn't have that much to offer.

Of course if you have older kids, or your travel party does enjoy thrill rides you might think differently and DHS is on your must do list. ;)

ETA: looking at the ages of your kiddo's show them both parks and let them choose which one they'd really like, the animals, water ride and EE or DHS with Star Wars and the other thrill rides.

most of the attractions are based around animals and education, we felt it wasnt really more then a zoo

I am always so amazed to see AK topping the list of the "what to skip" posts. I would skip any other park before AK! It is my absolute favorite! I cannot imagine going all the way to Disney, and skipping it! Although, I have to say---I do not like the Dinoland section. Too much like a cheap carnival. I generally wiz by there.

Hmm, unfortunately I always say DHS. We usually just do a park here or there when we're in town visiting family and the occasional 2-3 day Disney block where we only end up doing 2 or three parks and DHS is usually the first to go.
