Skinny Minnie

It's surprising and disgusting that The Walt Disney Company has apparently agreed to let Barneys NY do this.

It's not April 1, so this appears to be a truthful article.

It sends absolutely the wrong message.

Anorexia can lead to death.

I literally cannot believe this. I love fashion. I love Disney. I even love advertising (it's my field). But this is just WEIRD and WRONG and doesn't even WORK.

Thumbs down disney.

Very odd and not really all that chic!

I seem to be the minority but I just see this as stylized animation as opposed to thinspo. The images are clearly meant for adults and not for children, and I really don't think people should be getting their body image inspiration from cartoon characters.

I think they look cool.

I think they are neat images, but my mind can't get around the fact that it is supposed to be Minnie Mouse, I can see Jessica Rabbit and other characters that are human cartoons. But that's me.

agreed I just can't see classic Disney characters like Minnie, Goofy, and Daisy looking like that

Ahh, okay, I get that. It's a retake on something classic and you don't like the new version. Have you seen the pinup-style princesses? I think they are beautiful, but I can understand people not liking a classic character turned into something sexy. Still, I love them!

I was shocked to see this online this morning:

What was Disney thinking to allow this to happen. I guess I will have to loose more weight than I was already planning to for my next trip so I fit in.:rotfl:

Disney had an oh la la minnie line that featured a stick thin minnie. So this isn't something that's exclusive to the Barney's line unfortunately....

I think the Minnie looks like one of the characters Carol Burnett used to do on her variety show, the washed up silent movie actress character....can't remember the name of the skit/character since I was a kid.

I don't like them....don't really care for the pin up versions either. There are too many other cartoon characters that would be more fitting for something like that.
