I have skin tags on my neck, and would love to get rid of them.

I heard that the DR. Scholls skin tag remover kits hurt like crazy!

Anyone use them?
Did they work?
Hurt?

I don't know about those, but on the ones I've had, I've used clear nailpolish. Just apply a few times a day and eventually it'll fall off.

I went to the doctor once to have some removed and he took out a pair of manicure scissors and just cut them off. His limit was 12 per visit and yes there was even a sign in the office!!!! After that I just cut them off myself. Once I got over the queasy factor, it doesn't hurt at all.

I had one removed once and the doctor actually told me I should just do it myself. Pull it away from the skin with a tweezers and nip with a clean manicure scissors. Dissinfect your skin and the scissors before and after, obviously. Hope this helps.

If you can and I know this is hard, but tie a thin string around it. Get as close as you can to your body with the string. Ties the string in a knot tightly, but not too tight and leave it on over night. It will eventually dry up and fall off.

For real? I am so going to try this! :thumbsup2

Yes! I recently read somewhere that Compound W makes a solution for skin tags. Since I already had some of their regular formula in the medicine cabinet, I tried it. I figured it's pretty much the same thing, just in a different package.

Tried it and it worked. Once the skin tag fell off I put some vitamin e oil on the spot and now there is no evidence there was ever a skin tag there. I just couldn't bring myself to try any of the other methods mentioned.

DP just uses a bandaid on the area and in a week or so they usually just dry up and fall off. She usually just wears a turtleneck during the time she has the bandaid on or it can cause some looks. :rotfl:

you can cut them yourself like the above have said, what I have done first is apply ice to completely numb the area first before cutting it.

Like the OP, I get skin tags. They are dealt with by my dermatologist at my annual exam--she uses liquid nitrogen. Now, that does hurt! But it is over fast. I purchased one of the kits for home use, and I have had no luck with it at all. It is less painful than removal in the dr.'s office. I suggest you save your money.

Same here. I've had a couple under my arms, and I numbed it up using ice packs and just cut it. Some people say that they don't experience any pain when cutting them off, but others, like myself do. It wasn't a severe pain, but it hurt!

All fixed with an ice cube. Just hold the ice against it for a minute and then cut it...you won't feel a thing and it will greatly reduce bleeding.

I go to my dermatologist once per year for a check up. At that time he cuts them all off. Numbs the area first, cuts, then puts some blood clotting agent.

Doesn't hurt bad. Worth it.

Put a piece of duct tape on it, falls off in no time :thumbsup2

I had a nurse practitioner tell me this. I've twisted mine and held them down with a bandaid until they dried up and came off.

OMG I thought I was the only one who did this. When I went to the doctor and told him, he said that I just saved myself 500.00. I use a clean nail clipper and boil all my instruments before I use them as well as disinfect the area first. Then I use neosporin to help it heal.

I soaked some new nail clipped in alcohol and went to work on my neck. I used a shaving stick(by shaving stuff at Walmart) that you touch to a bleeding spot to stop it, because the bigger ones can bleed quite a bit. I tried using ice to numb them first, but then I tried one without and it really wasn't that painful. There is a pinch just as the skin tag is cut and then a sting when you touch it with the shaving stick.
