Or are you like me, who has been through just about every line there is?

I've used Mary Kay, Clinique, Olay, Neutrogena, Aveeno, etc. etc. etc.

What do you use, a line or something more basic (soap and water??) Just curious. And is it any good? And of course tell us what you use it for (besides just skin care, has it helped with things like acne, dry skin, etc.)

I have used Dove soap for most of my adult life (I'm 44). I get compliments on my complexion. A few times that I've taken a "break" from the soap and water routine, I used Neutrogena.

I never used sunscreen or moisturizer when I was younger (started in my mid thirties) but now use both faithfully! I use Prescriptives makeup.

I use the Mary Kay "Velocity" face wash and moistureizer. I absolutely love it. My skin feels healthy and it helps with breakouts. It might not work for everyone, but it certainly does for me. :thumbsup2

I just wanted to say I read this the other day and went out to buy some Cetaphil for normal/oily skin. I have VERY sensitive skin and rosacea. I have been using Clinique bar soap only for a long time and it was an improvement over Dove. I have tried a zillion things over the years. The Cetaphil was a big improvement. It is not dry in spots nor oily and has allowed me to avoid moisturizing which makes my face worse.. Thank you for your recommendation and add me to the Cetaphil list of users.

i got turned on to elemis products when i went on my first disney cruise. i use their face scrubb and it works realy well. i have very sensitive skin so i have to be carefull of anything that is harsh or has a scent to it (my face puffs up if i use fabric softener or dryer sheets  ).

one trick i've picked up thats helped prevent allot of skin problems is to rinse my face with very cold water and patt it dry prior to applying makeup-it closes the pores so they don't get clogged (this also works REALY well when adults or kids are wearing any type of heavy theatre type make-up for halloween-the stuff washes off much easier). i also start my makeup removal with cold water to keep from opening the pores and pushing the makeup into them.

In 1987 I started to use Lancome. I used that until 1999 or so, when I switched to Jurlique. I still use one of Lancome's eye creams and their makeup, but everything else is Jurlique. It has cleared up my rosacea, and anything that can do that, I'm sticking with!

I also like that it's made of natural ingredients and not tested on animals.

My facial skin is so sensitive that I don't normally use any soap products on it at all. I just use water and a washcloth if I haven't been wearing makeup, but if I have been wearing makeup I'll use Dove.

For moisturizers, Oil of Olay products have been working well.

I use Neutrogena face wash. It's the clear orangey colored liquid in the pump bottle. This summer I have been using a Clear-a-sil salicylic acid wash in the shower on my face, back, and chest to prevent break-outs. Moisturize with a non-comedogenic, spf 15 Neutrogena product.

Acutally, all the products mentioned are a knock-off of the brand name.

I have very oily, blemish prone skin and have searched for years for something that works. I use Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser (in a blue pump bottle) and Paula's Choice 2% Beta Hydroxy gel (beta hydroxy is an exfoliant that is better for blemishes than alpha hydroxy). Then I follow it up with Differin gel. It helps with rosacea and acne.

I recommend that anyone interested in choosing the best products for all skin types take a look at Paula Begoun's books. She is a cosmetic/skin care/hair care product reporter. I used to use expensive products and would skip around from one to the other until I read her book. Most expensive products are no better than less expensive brands. And bar soap is not good for people with problem skin, the tallow and ingredients that make it solid have a tendency to clog pores.

I have very dry skin, especially around my eyes. I've been searching for years for the right stuff. Right now I'm trying Kinerase. Its super, super expensive, supposedly used to be prescription. I got it at Sephora. Anyone have any other suggestions, please post them. :)

I've used all the big brands at one point or another. Clinique, Mary Kay, Lancome, etc...

For the past several years, Dove soap, Oil of Olay toner & Oil of Olay Complete (has sunblock).

Also started using Bare Minerals foundation a few months ago & really like it.

More expensive does not mean better!

It seems I've tried many of the same brands you have, but it stopped since I found Natural Advantage. www.naturaladvantage.com

I've been using it for many, many years I want to say atleast 7 or 8.
It's a 3 step plan, I also just recently added the Ultamate Hydration once a day(especially around the eye area, I like it better than their eye cream).

My skin is so soft and smooth, I make sure I never run out. It lasts forever too. I only have it delivered every 6 months (you have to ask them or they deliver it more often. If I run out of something I just call and have it sent earlier, but that doesn't usually happen.

Great Product, I wish everyone would give it a try, you'll never go back!

Try it, You'll LOVE it!

I use Mary Kay Time Wise Miracle Set. I rarely break out, but if I do, I use their Acne Treatment Gel.

I have tried a lot of brands (especially drug store brands) and keep going back to the original Noxema (in the tub). I also like the plain Nuetrogena wash in the pump (orange colored).

Recently I started using the Oil of Olay Complete moisturizer and I really like it.

I use Aveda products. Their moisturizers really can't be beaten. :)

www.kiehls.com

No fragrance, and they make a line for dry skin (me) and oily skin. Everyone that I know who uses it loves it. No advertising, so a lot of folks don't know about it, it's been around since 1850's. Available at Sak's and Nordstroms, but it really isn't any more expensive than Clinique or Lancome.

Feel free to PM me if you want info on specific products, I use almost the entire line for dry skin.
