Could someone please explain to me what does "family skillet meal" mean ? ie. as offered at Whispering Canyon.

It's basically an all-you-can eat meal. My husband had it a year ago. It included bbq ribs, corn-on-the cob, potatoes, and probably a few other things. The waitress kept bringing more out.

If you're talking dinner it means this

breakfast is the same concept but banana bread( excellent) scrambled eggs, cute little pinecone waffles, bacon, sausage, i think biscuits and gravy...i might be missing something. they bring you more of what ever you want. but it's really good and i like it better than a buffet because it's fresher and you don't have to worry that little tommy who just went through the line before you licked the serving spoon or sneezed in the food!. it's fairly inexpensive ( around $10 per adult) and a lot of fun

Good grief! That's HUGE! I honestly think that DH and I could share that one plate and be full.

Since we're on the dining plan, though, I don't think they will let us share it, since it's all you can eat. I think I'll let DH order it, and I'll just hook a piece of smoked sausage off of his plate!

It is servered family style so the plate you see was probably for more than one person. If you both order it you would be sharing it. They determine the amount on the plate by the number of people who order it. You can have seconds anything that you want. You can probably get away with stealing one or two things!! For dinner there were 3 meats -ribs, chicken i think and maybe smoked pork. mashed potoatoes, corn, coleslaw, corn bread, and a salad. Dh and i ordered it and we got seconds and thirds on ribs. I enjoyed it and the breakfast one. Breakfast had waffles, eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, bisquits, etc. Yummy.

Looks yummy, great photo, thanks for sharing. That plate of food is for one person? Can I say wow again no way could I put a dent in that plate and I'm a big eater. :wizard: :goodvibes :wave2:
