We've spent a day skiing at Great Barrington in Massachusetts, which was awesome, but this time we're thinking of hiring a cabin somewhere in Vermont for 4 nights. Has anyone done anything like this?

I'm of to trip advisor to find out the best area, then I'm hoping I might be able to find a place on VRBO, but if there's anyone here who has hand first hand knowledge of it it should be handy! :rotfl:

Nope haven't been to any ski regions in the East only in the West so cant' help. But a cabin in Vermont great!

Oooh!

I hope you'll update your findings. popcorn::

I've skied the West side as well. But I've always been interested in skiing Vermont.

Excuse me if you've already posted this somewhere but is this part of an upcoming trip?

I'm a little behind and not up to date with any of the PTRs or TRs or the roll-calls...

Yeah I got some great flights through Virgin which will give me a holiday in New Zealand in October and a holiday in the US in February/March.

We're trying not to do the same old same old when we go to the US, and figured since it will be winter why not look into skiing?

I'm also thinking we might take a week to do San Francisco and drive to LA, but I'm not sure if we'll have enough tone at WDW if we do that...

I actually spent Christmas 2012 skiing at Jiminy Peak! We also looked into Butternut and Bousquet, from memory one or both weren't open on Christmas day which is why we ended up at Jiminy. We stayed in Pittsfield itself, though from memory I looked into some really cute places in Great Barrington.

Haven't skied in Vermont though so can't help you with that!

Thanks, I might look a bit closer to Great Barrington (It was Butternut we skied last time) simply because it would make flights easier.

I found some lovely looking places in Bolton Valley/Killington but it's 4 hours from where the in laws live in CT, which isn't a problem in itself, it's just that the closest airport from there is Burlington, and there's only 2 flights a week that fly direct to Orlando from there, and it's to Sanford, not MCO.

If we stick to Massachusetts it's not difficult to head to Hartford airport,
