We are leaving Friday to spend spring break at Brian Head, Utah and then a couple of days in Las Vegas.

Does anyone take their DSLR skiing? I don't think I will as I am an ok skier but not good enough to carry around an expensive camera. Also, I don't have experience with taking pics in the snow as we don't get snow much at all here in Atlanta. Are there any tips or tricks I should know before I go?

I can't wait to take pics in Vegas too. I just don't know how to narrow what I shoot because there is so much!!

I am a pretty good skier and I have skied with my slr and dslr on occasion. I much prefer to ski with a p&s, tho. On a 2006 trip to Breckenridge, Co I skied 3 days. 2.5 with a p&s and 1/2 a day with my dslr. Its hard to really ski with a big camera around your neck. If you just want to ski easy its not that big of a deal to have it. I do tuck it into my jacket when its not in use(in case of that inevitable yard sale- wouldn't want a dslr in the face)
I've never been to Vegas but bring lots of memory and just shoot away!

I have skied with my Canon 40D - I had a case than pointed down and I wore it under my jacket - which I rarely zip anyway. I did two or three dedicated trips using that - skiing down first then waiting for my group to come along to get shots - then put it back into locker and slipped the p&s back into my pocket for the quick shots.
