Skeptical Guests??

I'm still dealing with many sly remarks about our wedding in Disney. I figured they would be happy, but instead I got remarks like, "Are you kidding, you want to get married with the Mouse?" I think my family (mostly my parents and siblings) were scared that the wedding was going to look more like a day at the amusement park then an elegant occasion, however, I started showing them pictures from the Disney wedding website. I also watched the show on the Food Network about Disney Weddings with my parents, and I think that convinced them that it will be a beautiful ceremony and reception.

If your parents or immediate family memebrs are givivng you grief, and it is very importnt to you how they feel, then maybe you should bring them (a little) into the planning of the wedding. For example, go to the Disney Wedding website and pick out items you want in the wishbook with your mom. That way, she'll have a good idea of what a Disney wedding is really like. I personally cannot imgaine getting married anywhere else. My DF and I are so in love with Disney, however, we realize that not everyone is as lucky as we are to really see and appreciate the wonder of Disney

I totally agree - MANY of my guests were skeptical about the Disney wedding idea and gave me lots of flack about having Mickey and Minnie at the wedding - but my friends and family are still talking about how our wedding was the most fun, the most beautiful, the best presented, most original - you get the picture and my wedding was 3+ years ago - wedding they had ever been to and how glad they were to have experienced it. In the end, we had about 60 people (only about 10 of those were family members) and it was PERFECT. What you will find is that the people who do come will be the ones you really want to be there, the ones who really want to be there, and it will be the absolute perfect experience for you. Regardless of what people say, this is your choice, your day... have a blast!!
