DD got a Sidekick for Christmas and the first time I used it (she has not yet) the plastic plate broke. Not sure what they are really called, but the die goes between them and you crank them thru the sidekick. Well... I went to the LLS that I bought it at and showed them the plate and they told me the store one broke too. They called Sixxiz and guess what???? Others have complained that their's broke too. They are now sending replacements made of a different material.

So if anyone has the Sidekick, beware of the plastic plates. They break easily, but you can get a replacement.

I just got min eyesturday -
and I haven't broken it yet -
hopefully it won't as I bought it from sizzix so hopefully it is of the new material -thanks for the heads up though!

HELP Please; I purchased the Sizzix sidekick this week and have found it almost impossible to manouver the sizzlits through the rollers. If I use brute force pusing and pulling I can get the sizzlit through but not simply by turning the handle. Is this normal?

no that isn't normal!
It usually goes through easily!
You can only do one piece of paper at a time though!

My plastic finally broke (but I use it a LOT) and it actually just cracked - I bought replacements but keep using the cracked one on the top until it finally breaks!

I received free replacements from my LSS. There's cracked too and they called. The company must have sent several because I was told if I needed more to let them know and I could have one.

Our Sidekick rolls very easy. Have you locked it? Maybe that is part of the problem?? Otherwise, I have no idea.
