sizing of HP robes for kids

So I should have bought DS8 a robe while there but didn't. I'm going to order one online but I'm not sure about sizing. I know there's a chart there and i"ll measure him when I get home but it seems like he'd be a XXSm or XXXsm ... does this sound right for an 8 yr old boy (52-53in tall)? Has anyone bought one for a kiddo this size and if so, what size did you buy? I'd rather it be a bit big so he can wear it for awhile but he wants to wear it for halloween so I don't want it dragging on the ground. Thanks!

This isn't going to be a lot of help, but DD7 (50 1/2 ") tried on the XXXS one when she was there. I was just looking at the picture of her in it and the sleeves are quite long on her, she had to push them up to get her hands out. I wouldn't have gone any bigger for her. I don't remember about the length though and the picture doesn't show it. Maybe this bump will get you the answer you need.

I called Universal merchandising about this very issue, and she said that she had recieved quite a few calls about the same thing since there isn't specific sizing info on the site. My daughter is 7 and about 49'' tall, she told me to order an XXS and it would fit her.
