I have no clue on what I am into now! I tried on jeans and the 20's are big but 18's a bit too snug for my taste, dress pants in an 18 fit and 20's too big. Then in another style the 20 fit and 18 too small!
I am afraid to buy any because at the rate I am dropping in size I don't want to spend money and waste it on stuff that won't fit me in a week!

I think I am goign to hit a few resale shops.

<font color=blue>I am just starting off and can't wait until I get into some smaller sizes. I have been a 20 on verge of 22 for a long time. I hope to soon see an 18, then a 16, 14, .......the thoughts are wonderful.

Shopping in a resale store sounds like a great idea.

Zoe -- what sz. clothes did you start of wearing? Am just curious. :)

JoshMom5 -- I just started off and am in the same sz. as you. Hopefully one day soon we can drop in sz.'s too! and, I can't wait!! ;)

It's rather frustrating the way size can vary depending on the manufacturer, isn't it?

<font color=maroon>It sure is but I like those in which the smaller size fits. :)

DH and I were discussing this the other day.

While we were in the Ozarks last month, I bought clothes in 4 sizes and they all fit! I even bought two pair of Lee capris and the only difference was light and dark denim and I had to buy them in 2 different sizes:( .

What's up?

I started out wearing a size 24 (barely) they were tight! Now I am getting into the 18's! So far if the scale was right today then I have lost 44 lbs! I am getting remeasured this weekend and I hope to have lost more inches. As of 2 weeks ago I had dropped from a 52" waist to a 44". My bust went from a 42 DD to a 38 C!
It's truly amazing how much smaller I am right now. And what makes it so much nicer is having so many people point it out.
;)

Yeah - I'm in the same situation! Thank goodness the 22's & 24's don't fit anymore. I have one pair of size 20 jeans that still fit. Most of my new pants are in size 18, but there are 2 pairs of 16's! How can that be? Why aren't women's sizes more uniform? I've had a few comments at work since I work at a school (off for the summer). All I really care about is that the old clothes don't fit and I feel better!

I hate sizes too. I had to buy some new shorts from old navy for the summer size 18 b/c the 16's wouldn't fit. Now they do only slightly snug. However, my jeans from lane bryant that are 16's are loose and the 14's fit slightly snug. I also just bough some pants and a skirt from walmart that are 14/16 and they fit fine. I hate having to try everything on b/c I can't rely on the size number.

Or, how about how they "bundle" sizes together? 18/20 or 14/16. What happens if I'm between a 16 and 18?

The 18/20's are way too big, but the 14/16's are way too small! aargh!'

Why don't they just makes every single size: 14, 15, 16, 17,18, etc?

Started WISH in May at size 14. By July I was in 12s. Now the 12s are falling off my butt. I have new size 10 pants for work. This is where Im planning on staying (per docs orders-4lbs to go).
But I am glad I bought the 12s while loosing the weight. The clothing style gave me the confidence I need to keep loosing.

Im having trouble w/DS fitting in clothes. The 14/16 boys are getting snug on him. When I look for 18s they are often 18/20 and the 20s are too big on him. Hard to find just 16s or just 18s

SO's friend works at Banana Republic, and I was recently talking to him about this. One of my friends used to LOVE BR clothes, did most of her shopping there. However, a while back she noticed that the clothes didn't fit her as well (she's tiny, like a size 2 or 4), not so much size wise, but just the proportion of say the hips and waist in pants. Now she shops mostly at GAP, which she didn't like that much before.

I asked the BR friend about this and he said that they started catering to a different body type, more slim and straight as opposed to someone a little more curvy. He said they're slowly changing though.

I suspect that the problem is that different manufacturers are not uniform because each company caters to a different body type and style (like the snug style that lots of teens wear these days).

So frustrating for the rest of us!
