I’ve tried searching without much luck. My husband got a gut... lol In the past he has had to use the modified seats on Hulk and other rides. Everest is tight for him.

I have ridden FoP but I was on sensory overload and can’t really remember if I thought he could ride it. I know thick calves and long legs can be an issue. He is 5’11’ so that part is ok. But he has got a belly, and I’m not sure if that is also a known issue.

None of us have been to StarWars area and I am completely spoiler free (and would like to remain that way so no googling of that info haha) so have no idea how those seats work.

I told him there were test seats (is that correct?) But he would kinda like to know the odds beforehand.

Thoughts?

Thanks bunches!

Yes, there are test seat outside of the ride. I've seen some people who waited in line for ??? and not be able to fit into the ride vehicle. They could have saved all that time just by trying the seat first. There's really no rhyme or reason for who fits and who doesn't. I've seen all shapes and sizes fit and not fit. ??? I don't think size is a factor in the Star Wars rides. I hope you have a great trip!

Both Star Wars rides use a basic seat belt (think Star Tours) and should not be a problem. I know I've seen RotR videos with a variety of "big guys" riding.

Well, my hubby is 6'1...and 310#....he has a belly also, and can't do the ride. With him, it's the lack of leg area. He can't adjust his size 12 feet in the test seat enough to compensate for the belly. That said, we did get it VERY CLOSE to locking him in....so definitely encourage him to try it out. He might think it would be embarrassing, but the way I see it, better than being escorted out of the ride area because you were too worried about trying it out beforehand.

Just my two cents

All depends on how much of 'gut' is your husband's gut. I'm 6', and 240#, with about a 39" waist. (Size 38 pants fit but snug, size 40 need a belt). And like the previous poster's husband, I wear size 12 shoes. Aside from my Acrophobia being triggered, I was fine on FoP. Galaxy's Edge wasn't open when we were there last, so I don't know about the new star wars rides, but FoP, I was fine on.

Universal though, has some very ummm, not people of size friendly, seats compared to Disney. According to their size information documents, I won't fit on most of the rides there. Between that and the trend towards roller coasters there, (acrophobia) despite the excellent theming there in the HP worlds, it's not on our list of places to bring the kids. We'll stick with Disney as we find them more accommodating, both physically, as well as having the diversity of experiences.

Have you checked out the Everything Pooh Sized thread? You might have to do a search for it. It's got a lot of conversations about sizes for rides. Universal is very not fat friendly. But Disney is far more accommodating since their rides are more chill for the most part.

Here are some FOP tips I’ve given elsewhere on these boards.
SUGGESTIONS:

Once you get the test seat right on FOP, ask the CM to let you practice it a couple times. If you find yourself sliding your butt or feet, find another way to get in that position

For 7DMT, have the Pammie Plus Parks video freeze framed on your phone on where she shows her leg placement. Hold it in your hand as you get in and do exactly that. Then put your phone in the pouch and don’t forget it.
Wear flip flops and athletic shorts and PRACTICE on the one outside. Don’t just see if you fit. Practice.
I would strongly suggest bringing some sort of short you can slide inside of, even if he changes in and out right before and after. The seat is designed to be impossible to scootch on, and it will improve his odds of fitting greatly if he can scootch forward after initially sitting. That will only be accomplished by shorts that are slippery on the inside and flexible all over.
Athletic shorts: You need to be able to slide forward after you’re already seated, and the seat is like tar. Your pants could be made of Teflon and they wouldn’t slide on it. You want to wear shorts that allow your underwear to slide on the shorts. You will be happy you did this.

Flip flops: similar issue with your feet. You need them as far forward as possible *after* your knees and butt are in the right spots. You will not have the ability to adjust once the flaps come out. you want footwear that you can slide your foot forward on, because your shoes are not moving no matter how hard you try.
I would also suggest watching this video, and asking them to let you practice where to put your feet on the test seat. If you try a few times, you’ll know what to do.

I have a very large belly that's hard to compress, and I've only been able to ride FoP once out of about 3-4 attempts. I've always been able to fit into the test seat outside, BTW. Not that you shouldn't use the test seat first, just that it's not a guarantee.

None of the rides in Galaxy's Edge caused me a bit of trouble, thankfully.
