Size of OKW laundry room?

Howdy! My family and I are starting to get really excited about our upcoming trip in January.

We are staying in a dedicated 2BR at OKW. For half of the trip there will only be 6 of us staying in the villa and 8 for the second half.

My question is this. The plan originally has been to put my 10 year old son on the hide-a-bed in the living room; but, after discussing it with him last night, he would prefer to sleep in the laundry room (he thinks it will be cool that there are no windows). I have a queen size air mattress and was wondering if this would fit (I doubt it) or if I need to get a twin mattress or cot?

So what is your expert opinion?

Not a bad idea, but I think I will get a twin so that the adults can still sit on the sofa after the son has gone to bed.

The twin air bed will be a tight fit also, since the width is close from the front of the washer and dryer to the wall. I'd recommend getting a cheaper air matress so that it might be a bit more pliable and can "squish" in there. We had the aero bed kind and it was too wide.

Another vote here for "No way a twin mattress will fit."

Sorry...but I distinctly recall from my trip in June that I had to "shimmy" to the washer/dryer when I had the laundry baskets on floor. Thus, the width is approximately the same as a laundry basket PLUS a small person. No way an entire twin mattress will fit.

Ok. I am a little confused now.

I have one person that thinks a twin should fit. I have another that did put a twin air mattress in there but recommends getting a cheap one so that it fits better. And last, a person that is sure that a twin mattress won't fit.

Do I have the tally correct?

Several people have posted that a pack n play fits, so I think an air mattress will fit (just not an aerobed). I know some of my camping pads would fit well in the laundry room (think Thermorest).

Not sure...but I was in a 1 bedroom at OKW in the "near HH" section... not sure if different sections have different sizes? Just a thought...:confused3

I really don't think a twin Aerobed would fit. Any twin will be tight. Picture a washer and dryer against one wall and then set up an ironing board against the opposite wall, just enough room to stand there to iron......with my body brushing the dryer.

They are the same size. The only difference is buildings 30 and up have a door into the bathroom in the laundry room.

Perfect explanation...and I agree 100% with that estimation!:thumbsup2

Thanks for everyone's help. I like the idea of using a camping pad. I have some really nice ones that are smaller than an air mattress but plenty big enough for a 10 year old boy to sleep on.

Sometime during the trip I will take measurements of the room for future peoples use (I am just anal like that).

Anything else that people would like to have measured for posterity?

Speaking from experience:
I have a 10 year old son and there is no way that he could have slept in the laundry room in the OKW 2 BR. There will be extra floor room in the bedrooms, but don't count on the laundry room.
