This is our first trip to VWL and we are staying in a 2 bedroom villa. It will be my family, 2 adults and 2 small kids, and my parents. Is this villa big enough? I looked at the pics on the website and I am concerned that the 2nd bedroom is going to be really small. I am planning on letting my parents have the king room and we will take the second bedroom with the kids. Anybody stay at a 2 bedroom there recently?

We stay in 2BR's all of the time. You should be fine for room. Remember that there is a pull out sofa in the living room. That means you will have the king bed, a queen bed and two pull outs. We have six in our family and do bring an aero bed but that's because as the kids have gotten older, they don't sleep with each other any more.

How old are your kids, if they are young enough, they could share the pull out in your room and you wouldn't have to use the living room pull out.

You will love the 2BR.

My kids will be 3 and 1, so we will have the youngest in a crib anyway.
thanks for the feedback!

In theory the room is big enough, although I found it small b/c teh kids like to run around and it's very crammped for that. This is why we prefer OKW b/c the rooms are bigger and more room for the kids to play around. Although IU liked the locations Of VWL and BCV I prefer the room sizes and laid back atmosphere at OKW. But hey you're in Disney nothing is really "bad".

Yes, I don't think you will find VWL really "bad".

It depends on if you have a dedicated two-bedroom or not. A dedicated will have the master with a king, the pull out couch and two queens in the second bedroom and of course two baths. A lock-off two bedroom, which is one that could be also rented as a one bedroom and a studio will have the master with the king, the pull out couch, and the second bedroom will be set up like a studio with a queen and a pull out couch, but also another small frig and microwave. I cannot remember if the VWL has lock off two bedrooms or not, but we have had a dedicated with 6 before and it was fabulous. The kids took the couch in the living room, we had the master, friends took the 2nd bedroom. We went over the holidays so we took a small (3ft) tree -prelit and set it up and put it on top of the tv cabinet. We had tons of room. Have a great time. We will be there in the summer.

The second bedroom is the same size as a regular studio, which are about 360 square feet. They can sleep 4 people, so you shouldn't have a problem.

i don't know how many lock offs they have, but I know they do have some because when we stayed there we had one.

We stayed in one at the VWL in Sept 2004 and are staying in one again this Sept. You will have plenty of room. We had 5 adults and two kids and didn't feel cramped at all. And we were stuck in there for a full day too due to Hurricane Jeanne. No worries, you'll LOVE it!!! :sunny:

We stayed in a dedicated two-bed room in Oct with my three kids 7, 4, 1.5 and me and my wife. My mother in law also joined us on the trip. 3 adults and 3 kids. The second bedroom with two queen beds is HUGE!!. Plenty of room.

Some nights one of the older boys would sleep in the second queen bed. Some nights the two older boys slept on the pull out couch together. The 1.5 year old slept in the pack and play in the master bedroom. My mother in law really liked the room and could not believe how much space she had. It was her first trip to Disney in 20 years and she can’t wait to go back with us again in Oct of this year. We turned her in to a Disney Grandma.

You will have plenty of room. We had 6 at BWV (units are the same size as VWL). My brother and his wife and their 2 boys (4 and 9) slept in the second bedroom and my DH & I were in the Master. It was wonderful to have the loving room and kitchen free for early risers and those who liked to stay up late.

Don't let anyone tell you that you need to stay at OKW to be comfortable - it's just not true!

Best wishes -

Well, for our family, we are more comfortable at OKW due to the villa sizes. But I agree, not everyone finds it this way. I particularily miss the extra space in the living room area, the 2 queen beds in the second bedroom and definitely the balcony size when we stay in DVC's other than OKW.
That being said, you'll love the VWL for the themeing and ambience of the resort. Your children are very young, so I think you'll be fine at VWL. Have a great time.
