Size for rides

I have read lots on sizes for rides at both Disney and IOA/Universal, and just want someone to put my mind at ease. I am referring to "plus sizes" size. I am 5'5 and approximately 235 lbs (size 18-20). From what I have read I should have no problems with virtually any rides at Disney, and very few at Universal, but might at IOA.

Any advice?

You should be good to go for most every ride in the park. Here's a list of suggestions:

GREEN LIGHTS:
Splash Mountain - No restraints at all so you're good to go.
Space Mountain - Has a lap bar, but it's single seating, so I think it's safe
Any 3D show - It's like a movie theatre
Tower Of Terror - Although they use seatbelts now, you should still be safe.

RED LIGHTS:
Star Tours - It's extremely tight seating, but if you try, sit in the back row.
BTMRR - Maybe by yourself you'd be ok, but again, very tight side to side.

Other than that, you're good to go. Most rides at Magic Kingdom have very loose restraints (Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, ect) so there is no problem there. Have a good time, and if you're unsure, try it out!

DH and I are both Pooh sized and we have no problem with any ride at WDW. (I do not ride BTMRR with DS or DD though becuase the one bar does not go down on their lap and I am UNcomfortable with that.) DH and I ride BTMRR together though and we have no problem.

Look im over 300 lbs and fit in EVERY RIDE IN WDW....Dont worry about it. You wont have a problem...Universal on the otherhand is a different story

I'm a size 14-16 and even when I was a few pounds heavier, I didn't have too many problems fitting into the rides at Disney. At IOA, the Unicorn ride and Fire and Ice felt a little tight but no problems. I believe there is a section of AllEarsnet with some more info on this, too. Good luck!
