We are going to Disney 12/12-12/18 with 6 year old triplets (they will have just turned 7 when we travel). We arrive at 5:00 p.m. and we depart at 5:30 p.m. Our package include 6 nights at POR, 7 day base tickets, and dining plan. I am trying to think through whether we need 6 or 7 day tickets. In reality we won't go to a park on the night of the 12th so that leaves 6 nights. However, is there a benefit to us having the dining plan for 7 days?

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks,

Lisa

Only benefit I can see to having a 7 day dining plan is that, with a late afternoon arrival, you will only use either a CS OR a TS meal that day, leaving the other meal available for a third meal on a different day. I would ad the 7th park day and NOT the 7th day of dining. I think that the park tickets are only a couple of dollars more for the 7th day, and if you aren't all dead tired from travelling you might want to go into a park, catch a CS meal, and watch the fireworks on your 1st night- that's what we'd do.

first off your dining plan is based off the number of nights you are staying, your ticket will not effect it at all.
do you plan do go to maybe EMH the night you arrive? i would think youll be all checked in around 7:30-8.
if you know theres no way you will be going to the parks that night you absolutely dont need 7 day tickets. if its a possibility you may go i would keep the 7th day. its not costing you much money. this year it was a 2 dollar difference, so for 5 people its a difference of $10. its not enough to worry all that much about if you dont use it, jmo.

For your park tickets, I would say that you need 5 or 6 days. It all depends on how you work your trip. We never go to a park the day we get there, usually its too late. Instead we just check out the resort, and have dinner. We always have a 'day off' - no parks in the middle of our trip. We have little kids too, and really need a day 'off'. We go swimming, and explore DTD. And this trip we do not plan on parks on our departure day either. So for our trip Sept 19-27th (8 nights) We will have 6 day tickets.

As for the dining plan you with have six counter service, table service, and snack credits each. You get a credit for every night that you are there. You can easily stretch your dining plan to cover 7 days though. You can not choose how many days you have the dining plan. It is for how many nights your stay is. I hope that is not confusing for you???

Another thing to keep in mind is that you are going when is is going to be busy for the christmas season so make sure that you make all your table service dining reservation as soon as you can. So you get the times and restaurants you want.

Like I said it depends on how you want to do your trip.... And your it depends on your kids.
We know we will be back so we try not to have the 'must do everything' attitude. We did this on our first short trip to the world, and it was not so fun :headache:

I hope that helps, and I hope that you guys have a great time. :thumbsup2

Thanks for putting things into perspective for me. We will definitely keep the 7 day passes.
