This is budget of course :)

We're a little over 2 hours from Six Flags and were thinking of taking the kids and spending the night near by the night before.

We did this a few years ago but do you think I can remember the name of where we stayed? I'm on the fence about doing priceline/etc. Springfield has some very sketchy areas and I'd hate to end up somewhere gross!

I've stayed at the Sheraton Monarch, they usually have a deal with the tix too, it's a pretty nice hotel.

We stayed in Springfield a few years ago when we went to Springfield and had booked the Super 8 before leaving home and when we got there found is was in an area that we found shady and was not a very nice hotel. We ended up staying at the Comfort Inn in West Springfield and had a great experience.

I say do priceline and do 3.5*

I checked betterbidding.com

and these are the only two

3.5* Marriott
3.5* Sheraton Monarch Place

Both hotel are nice and you would be happy at either. I know Sheraton has an indoor pool (I think Marriott does too).

We live right near the Six Flags....never taken the kids but we live in Ludlow MA, and we have a new Comfort Inn! Lots of people stay there and go to Six Flags. Ludlow is exit 7 off the Mass pike right on Center St. easy on/off the highway to Six Flags and its very safe/clean with a breakfast room! Maybe you could try that??

We stayed at the Comfort Inn & Suites at the end of June, in West Springfield, and had no problems. It has an indoor pool and hot tub, breakfast, and is right near a lot of restaurants, about 10 minutes to Six Flags. Would stay there again.

thanks for this.....would this be with springfield as the city? i've never used priceline before!

Brand new Hampton Inn right off of I-91 in Enfield Ct. Only a few miles across the border to Six Flags.
Good luck

If you don't know the area and what are good and bad areas, go for Enfield, CT. It's easier to drive through than West Springfield.

Don't get me wrong -- I go to West Spingfield a lot, and stay at fairly cheap places. But there are rotaries and other things that could confuse out of towners, and if you want to be hassle free, Enfield's the way to go.
