We are heading to Chicago next week and plan to spend 2 days at Six Flags. 2 adults and 3 kids (3,7,9 years old). We were thinking of buying a season pass for each of us, as it looks like that will be less expensive than buying 2 single day tickets for each person. Does anyone know if there are coupons available in the Chicago area, like on grocery items/cans of pop or anything? Any other discounts available? Thanks!

I don't think there are that many discounts available at the moment. Jewel grocery stores sell the tickets for $43 but I think that is the same price as buying them online.

They offer a Thrill Pass which is less than a season pass. Thrill pass has no coupon book and is good only for the summer not the fall (i.e, Fright Fest) but that wouldn't matter to you. I believe those are $63.

There are also specially marked Coke cans that will get you $20 off admission.

Not sure how it works for the kids tickets, it's been a long time since my kids were that small.

Hopefully someone more knowledge will chime in with anything I left off.

Enjoy your trip!

I don't know how to get you the best deal on tickets, but I just wanted to let you know that parking is pretty steep. $22 :faint:

Thank you for the information, I think the Thrill Pass might be best for us.

Thanks. Happily, I noticed that early enough to book a hotel within walking distance. Or so they say...we haven't been there before. Hopefully there is no major highway right there, or something to prevent us from walking it. I'm hoping to take the little guy back to the hotel midday, too, while his brothers keep going.

If you buy a ticket you can buy the next day for $15. It may be more. You have to do it before you leave the park.

You do have to cross a big road (4 lanes) to get to your hotel. But there is a crosswalk. But its a long way from the gates to the road. Then more distance from the road to the nearest hotel(s). But it is walkable.

There is a light at the front of the park, so you won't have to dash across traffic. It is a bit of a hike from the street entrance to the actual gates, since you have to walk across a big parking lot. I live near there, and I see people doing it all the time, even to come out for lunch. There is a Jimmy Johns, Burger King, and a few more restaurants outside the park. Not a ton to choose from when walking, but a few.

If you have a Discover card, you can get 5% back if you buy your tickets online (you have to go through Discover's site).

I bought tickets for my kids two weeks ago. The best price was buying online for a weekday. The tickets were $38.99 this way. I also used my discover and it took the 5% off right then. I prepaid for the parking pass also, but you can walk, as others have said- it's just not super close.

Wow. Just looked online and the per purchase tickets have gone up to $42.99. Wow. In 2 weeks they've gone up a bit. Don't see any deals for 2 days either. Maybe check at the park as a previous poster suggested.

Thanks so much, this will be perfect! I called, and they said we can add the extra day for $20. That's cheaper than doing the season passes, and then we have some flexibility if someone, like our little guy, doesn't want to do a second day there. I appreciate your help!

I'm not sure if you live in IL or WI, but they have been having commercials on tv that if WI residents order tickets online to use the code BADGER for $30 off. I think that you can use that code thru 7/31.

Oh, never mind... :( I just checked things out on their website and the code isn't working. Sorry for the bad info.

Ha! I knew I wasn't losing my mind on that discount. Here is a link to the Six Flags site for the discounted tickets. It's $30 off the gate price, not the online price, though. Plus it's only for residents of certain WI counties. I'll post it in case anyone else reading this can put it to good use.

Geez Louise! I need to look harder before I get excited about sharing some good deals.
