how roomy or cramped are they, will they hold a pooh sized passenger?

It really depends on what size of a pooh you are. :) My DH is 6'4", with broad shoulders. He is just a large boned guy who weighs about 30 pounds more then he would like. His weight is 260. So I would say he is a tall pooh. :rotfl2:

On Southwest the seats have been three across on all the flights we have been on. We have learned to buy 3 seats, so we have the row. It gives DH more leg, feet (size 13 1/2) :rolleyes1 room as well as shoulder space. If the flight is a short one hour one we will just get two seats, but on those long west coast to Orlando flights we buy three.

Our concern on a long flight is getting leg cramps or blood clots from sitting for a long time in a confined position. It is really important to be able to move and change position.

We really like Southwest for their non-stop flights, flight times, prices and they are sooo friendly. We always get where we are going safely and usually have had a good laugh from their outgoing personnel.

It does cost us more to do this, but we are so much more comfortable. The cost is so much less then flying first class. We leave the arm rests up and relaxe. It is also nice to use the center tray table for our drinks and muchies.
Hope this helps Happy Lawyer.

we use SW for the first time in May and I thought the seats had more room the USair and Airtran. JMO

Dh and I are both pooh sized. DH is just really tall and almost 300. He barely fits these days. He always gets an aisle seat anyway because of his legs. He usually takes one of the ds with him and they leave the space in the middle open. If its not a full flight they luck out and get the middle seat to themselves. Last time a C boarder had the nerve to ask my dh to give up his aisle seat, we were A people. He politely said no. On the flight down to orlando I had to get a seat belt extender. On the way home no, it was not me, it was the seat itself. I also keep the littlest ds next to me and put the seat rest up after takeoff. I barely fit. Its a little over 2 1/2 hours for us from NY to Orlando and I am glad when we get there. I want to bolt out of the seat.

I had to smile at your husband taking an aisle seat for the extra leg room. As I have discribed my DH is tall. We were on a NW flight sometime back (3-4 years ago). DH had part of his knee and about 2 inches of his foot in the aisle. The flight attendent came down the aisle and stopped at his seat. He informed him that his entire body must fit within the confines of the seat area or he would be ask to get off the plane. :confused3 We had already taken off. :sad2: The look on my DH face was priceless. He moved his knee and toe inside the "seat confines".

However, there was a NW staff member who was sitting about 4 row ahead of us who was sitting with her legs over the aisle arm rest and out into the aisle. Naturally, nothing was said to her by the flight attendent. I should mention they were not serving or moving carts when she ask him to move back inside his seat area. Maybe she just didn't like tall, blond, blue eyed men?

People sure can be interesting.

I find them reasonably roomy. I am 5'7", about 142# with a 32" inseam. I have room on both sides of the seat and ok leg room. The seats are about the size of an average office chair with arms. I have no problem fitting.
The room between the rows seems to be better than Delta or American.

If you go onto Seatguru.com, they list the seat width and pitch, so you can compare it to other aircraft.

And this makes you pooh sized how?

:rotfl:

I haven't flown on SW yet, but I'm glad someone asked. If the seats are being compared to other airlines that I have flown on and are being described as a little roomier, then it's good to go. It's a close fit for me, but I do fit.
Here's hoping the flight isn't completly full so my friend and I can grab an aisle and window and nobody will need the middle seat.

OMG! I can't believe anyone would ask someone to give up a seat in that manner! How RUDE!

LOL, when I am trying to get into my size 12s it make me feel pooh sized.

Actually, I was trying to give an example of how large the seats are. The thread was about comfort, not about people's size. I was saying that I am comfortable in the seat and to be totally accurate, I gave my dimensions, so folks would have an idea of an size relationship. ;)
