Wondering, with the fires, if there is a site to check air quality - particulate matter, ozone levels, etc at WDW.
Our local TV station carries this sort of information on their website; do any of Orlando's? It would help our family of ashmatics plan.

well gimme a few min to look up a particular site...

but I have a program on my computer thats called weatherbug and does some of those same things...

but I will look into a web based of the same :)

Wheelsie,
What else does this weatherbug do? How does it work? I appreciate any information.
Thanks

This looks like it might do the trick:
CLICK HERE for link to Orange County health Department.
Orlando is in Orange County. This site has a place to click for the air quality and for pollen (among other things). It says it is updated daily, Mon - Fri and the index today was 37. It is measuring ozone, so I'm not sure if they are looking at fire, but there is an email address to ask a health related question.

All these sites are wonderful!
Did you see the UPM numbers for the days the smoke was so bad (on the Orange County site)? Between all these sites I'm really able to make comparisons to WDW and what sets us off at home. Now if I can just figure out how much sunscreen DH will really use!:smooth:

I just got this from the American Lung Association:
6 Main Factors that contribute to outdoor air pollution:

Ozone occurs when sunlight reacts with emissions in the air; it is the harmful ingredient in smog. On high ozone days, emergency room visits for respiratory problems can as much as double.

Particulate matter, made up of mainly carbon-based particles and dust.

Nitrogen dioxide forms when fuel is burned at high temperatures (as it is in on-road vehicles and power plants).

Sulfur dioxide is formed when fuel containing sulfur (mainly coal and oil) is burned during industrial pocesses.

Carbon monoxide, an odorless, colorless poisonous gas, comes mainly from motor vehicles and other exhaust.

Lead emissions are also dangerous pollutants, but have decreased significantly because Americans now use unleaded gasoline.

If you don't take enough sunscreen, you will find it for sale at the resort gift shops. I've never looked for it in the park shops, but it might be one of those things that they store under the counters or in drawers.
