Site Requests ?????

Does the staff at the Fort still allow you to fax a specific SITE request in to them? If so, how many days out should I send it? AND.....if they do accept site requests, should I call directly or send the fax? Thanks!!

Officially, site requests have never been accepted, although many have requested a site. The chances of getting a specifc site are remote at best. Loop requests are accepted but not guaranteed. I make my loop request at the time of reservation, and fax in a friendly note requestng the loop again about two days before I leave home.

We were traveling with two other families, one with a RV and one family staying in the cabins. I had requested a loop but also had mentioned that we were traveling with friends who would be in cabins. I had made my original reservation through a travel agent who didn't place our requests on the reservation. I didn't realize it until the week before we left and sent in a fax 3 days before leaving.

When we arrived, the CM apologized that they couldn't give us the requested loop but were trying to keep us closer to the cabin loops. From that statement, I assumed they do read requests and do try to comply with the requests if possible.

I recommend making reservations with requests as early as possible. In looking back, I'm not sure that going through a travel agent helped us that much. Originally, I used them in hopes of them doing the leg work on any discounts and special offers. We didn't have any discounts which may be related to our trip being in peak season.
